23 years after rotationplasty Surgery 🦾 ✨
In 2003, Peter underwent a unique surgery called Van Nes rotationplasty, where the cancer is removed and the lower leg is rotated so the ankle functions as a knee joint—allowing for smooth motion and a wide range of movement.Proper alignment and a well-fitted prosthesis help him move comfortably through the demands of a busy life, including work, kids, traveling, and everyday responsibilities. 🦾🦿

Boston Marathon 2026 — done. 🏃‍♂️🦿
Celebrating Matt Burgos completing his very first marathon at the Boston Marathon — running in support of the Heather Abbott Foundation.
The Heather Abbott Foundation
Matt first came to us in 2024 after years of struggling to get a comfortable prosthetic fit. Ready to take his life back, he put in the work, trained hard, and rebuilt his strength with his new everyday leg.
In June 2025, through our continued collaboration with the Heather Abbott Foundation, Matt received his very first running blade. From those first runs to full speed ahead, watching his progress has been incredible.
Then came this moment — crossing the finish line of the Boston Marathon.
But the surprises didn’t stop there… at mile 26, Matt proposed. 💍
We’re proud to be part of this journey — from first steps to marathon miles. 🚒🦿

From first steps… to back in uniform. 🚒🦿
Carlos lost his leg below the knee after a motorcycle accident.
Wait for that transformation!
Now he’s back in his firefighter gear with a firefighter-specific prosthesis—built to handle extreme heat, heavy impact, and the weight of 50–75 lbs of gear on the job. 🔥
And yes—already putting it to work, pulling David, CPO, during training.

Walking out on a finished prosthesis in just one day — casting, fitting, and delivery. 🦿✨

Capri lost her leg at just 5 days after she was born and started using a prosthesis at 10 months. Now 7 years old, she and her parents made the trip from CA ✈️ to A Step Ahead Prosthetics!

During her stay, Capri grew more confident on her new prosthesis — relearning, adjusting, and focusing on her gait. By the end of her visit, she was doing things she’s never been able to do before using her prosthetic leg all day, trying new sports, and doing her first cartwheel, split, and backbend. 🤸‍♀️⭐

Possible future gymnast! 🤸‍♀️💪
