📉 Overdose deaths are falling, and that’s meaningful progress.

New CDC data shows a 21% year-over-year decline in overdose deaths, with decreases reported in 45 states. Approximately 73,000 lives were lost in the most recent 12-month period, down from 92,000.

Increased access to naloxone, opioid settlement funding, and expanded substance use treatment are helping make this impact. 💙

While this progress is encouraging, there is still more work to be done. Tens of thousands of lives are lost each year. CN Guidance is here when and where support is needed, with our 24/7 Community Crisis Center. 🤝

This week we stand together for No Name-Calling Week, a national initiative dedicated to ending hurtful words and creating safe, welcoming spaces for students, staff, families, and our entire community. Name calling may seem small, but it can deeply impact self-esteem, mental health, and belonging. That's why we believe words matter – and kindness matters even more.

We encourage everyone to pause, reflect, and choose words that uplift rather than harm. This week, lets commit to:
🌟 Treating others with kindness and respect
🌟 Thinking about how our words affect those around us
🌟 Supporting peers and standing up for one another
🌟 Speaking up when we see or hear name-calling

Small changes in how we speak can make a big difference. Let's work together to spread compassion across our community! 💬💙
