Believe in the power of yourself, believe in the power of the universe, believe in the power of AYURVEDA!
My name is Narayani Margaret Sarmiento and I'm a Spiritual Lifestyle Coach and I use Yoga and Ayurveda to guide women to live their healthiest and happiest lives through realizing themselves as Spirit and aligning their natural biorhythms with Mother Nature's cycles.
My name is Margaret Sarmiento, formerly Margy Goodspeed and my spiritual name is Narayani (Na-ra-ya-nee), a name that was given to me by my Yoga lineage - Sivananda. I lived for 3 years very simply in a tent at the Sivananda Ashram of New York and Bahamas. I got my 500 hour Yoga Teacher Certificate, served the Well-Being Center, doing laundry, scrubbing bathrooms and working 1:1 with clients performing Ayurvedic oil treatments, managed by my mentor Lalita Devi, a long time ayurvedic practitioner who studied at the California College of Ayurveda and lived in the Ashram for over 15 years. In the Ashram, the daily routine is very structured and I learned self-discipline on a level that being a college athlete didn’t teach me. Each day was organized so that every moment was occupied between, self-care, meditation, chanting, lectures, yoga, working, serving, and doing it all again! Oh yea, a little sleep too
After living and working in the Ashram, I went to Albuquerque, New Mexico where I studied under Dr. Vasant Lad at the Ayurvedic Institute. I lived with other students, learning to cook according to our doshas, sharing and living a holistic lifestyle. Ayurveda grounded me and allowed me to integrate the yoga teachings into a real world setting. It also gave me the language to be able to speak about health and spirituality with everyone!
ABQ is where I met my husband, salsa dancing! We got pregnant and got married within a year and moved back to New Jersey, my home. I lived as a stay at home mom for a about a year before I got my teaching certificate and began my career as a high school Spanish teacher. I’m now a grateful mother of 2 beautiful daughters, Luna who's 5 and Mila, who's almost 2 and pursuing my purpose of spreading the wisdom of Yoga and Ayurveda. I’m super eager to share all the knowledge that has been passed onto me. I continue to learn and grow by practicing, reading and learning from others on their journeys to health and happiness.
MY MISSION STATEMENT:
I look forward to working with each and every one of you women! My mission is to guide 1000 women by 2020 to find their healthiest, happiest version of themselves with self-care, self- love and self- confidence through Ayurveda Everyday.
I do this because I truly believe women and mothers can live more fulfilled lives by putting their health and happiness first.
I will do this by creating a customized program that will guide women and mothers to practice self care leading them to express their truth and find their purpose.
I not only do this for the 1000 women's health and happiness but for the future of my daughters, to help my family and step into my own power, becoming a strong female role model.
During all of this I wish to portray my most authentic self, express joy, empathy, compassion, appreciation and love for women and their stories and be a worthy ambassador of Ayurveda, this rich ancient healing science while having fun!
I’m so passionate about bringing Yoga and Ayurveda to women in a practical way, working to improve our overall health.
