Congratulations to our phenomenal Executive Director, Elizabeth Newton, on receiving the Community Leadership Award for the state of North Carolina! The award was presented by NC Labor Commissioner Luke Farley. Miss Elizabeth is beyond deserving of this recognition — she truly embodies what it means to put residents first and live out our mission each day.

We are so grateful to be part of Miss Elizabeth’s team. Having someone so caring, committed, and compassionate leading the way is truly inspiring. We are incredibly proud of you, Miss Elizabeth!

Our trip to the NC Aviation Museum was such a wonderful experience that we wanted to share a few more photos. The gentlemen had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the outing. Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable and left a lasting impression with many ways he brought history to life.

Our Men’s Lunch Bunch outing to Kickback Jack’s followed by a visit to the NC Aviation Museum was truly one for the books! We also enjoyed spending time with our sister community, Brookdale High Point North AL. Mr. Allan especially had a wonderful time — having built and flown airplanes in his spare time, he shared stories of flying as far as Orlando, Florida, to visit his sister. It was such a joy to see the residents take in the rich history of North Carolina pilots. The laughter, smiles, and camaraderie made this day one to remember!

Our Cooking Demo with Niasha, our Dining Service Coordinator, was an absolute blast! The residents had such a great time watching her prepare the delightful sweet treat, Bananas Foster. From the amazing aroma filling the room to the warm company shared, it was truly a wonderful way to wrap up the day!

What an amazing time together at our Friends for Life, Sip and Paint event!

The residents and family members truly showed their creativity and passion for painting. We always remind our residents that “Art is Art” — and it was beautiful to see everyone’s unique expressions come to life.

The evening was filled with laughter, smiles, wine & mocktails, and a gorgeous charcuterie spread to complete the experience. The residents also thoroughly enjoyed having the sweet kids join them — they brought so much giggle, joy, and love into the room.

We are so grateful for the special moments we get to share together.

Our extraordinary Business Office Manager joined the residents for a special cooking demonstration, preparing a delicious “Tomato Bisque” paired with perfectly toasted Italian bread. Our community recently gathered for a very special celebration honoring all of our September birthdays. While each resident’s birthday is recognized individually, it was a joy to bring everyone together for a shared celebration. The room was filled with warm wishes, cheerful singing, and heartfelt moments as residents joined in celebrating one another. The residents always looks forward to this time of the month.

It is truly a gift to witness the joy that comes from spending time together and cherishing each other’s presence.

Mr. Allan is a dedicated resident who makes time each day to complete his exercise routine. He values the importance of keeping his legs moving and staying active. At Brookdale S***t Club, our residents take exercise seriously, often joining B-Fit daily to keep their bodies strong and in good condition. Many also share stretches they’ve learned over the years, making each session engaging and beneficial for everyone!
