The month's focus: Balanced for the equinox!
Through Sept, Wendy's classes will focus on balance. Sept brings the autumn equinox, when day and night are briefly balanced, and the ingress to Libra, the zodiacal sign of balance.
It could be said that many yoga poses aspire to balance: an idealized alignment or symmetry, poised right at the tipping point, turned in a different direction, playing with gravity.
Let's explore a range of balance poses as we welcome the fall season: standing, seated and kneeling, using the arms and hands — and maybe most important, mind and body, interior and outer selves. Plus working on balance helps build strong bones and helps with fall prevention.
