An ankle sprain occurs when the ligaments that support the ankle are stretched or torn, usually from twisting, rolling, or turning the ankle awkwardly. This can happen during sports, walking on uneven surfaces, or from a simple misstep. #2026

Bone spurs:

Bone spurs on the foot are smooth, bony projections that develop over time due to repetitive stress, strain, or joint damage.

Often caused by osteoarthritis, ill-fitting shoes, or high-impact activities, they form on the heel, midfoot, or toes. While often painless, they can cause pain, inflammation, and reduced mobility.

Treatments focus on reducing symptoms:

• Conservative Care: Resting, icing the area, and taking anti-inflammatory medication (NSAIDs).
• Footwear & Orthotics: Wearing shoes with adequate cushioning and using custom inserts to reduce pressure.
• Physical Therapy: Stretching and strengthening to relieve stress on the foot.
• Injections: Corticosteroid injections to reduce inflammation.
• Surgery: If conservative treatments fail, surgery can be performed to remove the spur.
