Regional Prevalence: Highest in North America (~13%) and Africa (~7.2%), with lower rates in Oceania (~3.0%). 👣

Recurrence: Roughly 65% of diabetics who have had an ulcer will experience recurrence within five years. 👣

Mortality: Approximately 10% of patients die within one year of their first DFU diagnosis.👣

Amputation: About 20% of DFU cases require lower-extremity amputation.👣

Infection: Around 50% of ulcers become infected 👣.

Mortality: Patients with DFU have a 2.5-fold higher mortality rate compared to diabetes patients without foot ulcers👣
