Blisters on feet are fluid-filled sacs, usually caused by friction from shoes or moisture. They generally heal on their own within a few days.

Treatment involves keeping them clean, dry, and protected from further friction using bandages or moleskin. Avoid popping them, but if necessary, drain with a sterile needle, then apply ointment.

Patient presents to the office with a complaint of pain in the great toenail. Dried blood was noted, and the toenail was partially loosened. The affected toenail was debrided, and postoperative wound care instructions were reviewed. The patient was advised that a new toenail is expected to regrow in approximately 9–12 months.

Let’s talk about flexor tenotomy of a toe

A flexor tenotomy is a minimally invasive, in-office surgical procedure that releases the tight, contracted tendon on the underside of a toe to correct hammertoes, mallet toes, and claw toes.

It is highly effective:
Reducing pain
Eliminating corns
Healing diabetic toe ulcers by straightening the toe.

It can be done safely in the office with minimal recovery involved.

Call for your appointment to see if a flexor tentomy maybe an option for you. #2026

Damaged Toenail

A damaged toenail bed—often caused by trauma such as stubbing, crushing, or dropping a heavy object on the toe—can lead to pain, swelling, discoloration, and sometimes blood trapped under the nail (subungual hematoma). In more severe cases, it may result in nail loss, infection, or permanent nail deformity.

⚠️ Toenail injuries involving the nail bed can be a medical emergency.
Delaying treatment may increase the risk of complications.

Don’t wait—seek prompt podiatric care.
