🌟 **A Standing Ovation for Adi Johnson!** 🌟

This morning, we were blown away by the incredible generosity and initiative of 13-year-old, Adi Johnson! Adi raised a whopping $1,000 and used it to restock the food pantry at Hayworth Cancer Center. But she didn’t just stop there—she arrived bright and early today, ready to unload and personally deliver all the food she purchased to ensure our pantry is filled for those in need. 💪
Inspired by her mom, Brandy Johnson, a dedicated nurse at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist High Point Medical Center, Adi took it upon herself to make a tangible difference in our community. Her commitment at such a young age is nothing short of inspiring, and we are incredibly grateful for her support.

Huge thanks to Adi and her amazing parents, Brandy and Matt Johnson, for raising such a compassionate and driven young woman. Our community is so much stronger because of young leaders like Adi!

Historic moment!! Atrium Health Wake Forest High Point Medical Center celebrates its first minimally invasive lung biopsy using Ion Robotic Bronchoscopy technology! The Ion system is a robotic-assisted platform for minimally invasive biopsy in the lung to help detect lung cancer early. The system uses an ultra-thin, highly maneuverable robotic catheter to reach parts of the lung not possible through a standard biopsy to test for cancerous cells. The technology uses CT scan data to generate a 3D images of the patient’s lungs allowing access to small nodules in the deep and peripheral areas of the lungs. If cancer cells are detected, our surgeons can remove a small area of the lung with the da Vinci robotic system in a very precise fashion, preserving more lung tissue than it was possible with prior technologies.

Having this equipment and trained interventional pulmonologists and surgeons in High Point ensures our patients have access to the most advanced surgical care, close to home. The Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem was the first academic medical center in the U.S. to begin using this technology, which is still not widely available across North Carolina and much of the country. Please join us in congratulating our team on this achievement!

Like mother, like daughter—but each with their own flair! 🤜🤛Meet Jodie and Hannah Paige Allison, the mother-daughter duo leading nursing teams at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist High Point Medical Center.

Jodie, an assistant nurse manager, manages the Emergency Department and has been with the hospital since 2002. Hannah, also an assistant nurse manager, oversees two inpatient units. Both share a passion for nursing and building a supportive work environment.

Nursing runs deep in their family, with Jodie following in the footsteps of her aunt, an OR nurse, and inspiring her own daughters to pursue nursing. Hannah's sister is a nurse, and their grandmother is an ED nurse who has been working at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Lexington Medical Center since 1980.

Together, Jodie and Hannah introduced an innovative shadowing program called "In Your Shoes" to improve communication between departments, fostering mutual respect and efficient patient care.
Jodie and Hannah's collaboration is a family affair! While they share creative visions, each has carved their own path in nursing. Cheers to this dynamic duo making a difference every day!
