Speech therapy can be SWEET and FUN! 🍦
Today we worked on both expressive and receptive language through play using an ice cream activity and hands-on toys.
✨ Expressive Language (what the child says):
• Practicing action words like “try,” “sell,” and “melt”
• Requesting items (“I want ice cream”)
• Labeling and describing objects (flavors, toppings)
✨ Receptive Language (what the child understands):
• Following directions (“Put the ice cream in the hole”)
• Identifying objects (ice cream, cone, animals, food items)
• Matching and sorting play pieces
💬 Through engaging, play-based therapy, children build vocabulary, improve comprehension, and gain confidence communicating in everyday situations.
Play is powerful—and learning happens naturally when kids are having fun! 💛
