Yesterday we had our monthly brunch and also kicked off assisted living week which also happened to be on grandparents day! Thank you to our amazing culinary team for all of their hard work getting our food ready. We hope you all enjoyed and will see us next month for our next brunch!

Busy day today! To start, it was National Food bank Day. To celebrate, we donated some little self care packages to the McKinley Community Outreach Center that provides many services including a food pantry, donations for clothing for all, as well as household appliances to help those in need. Today was also our celebration of our one year anniversary! It is hard to believe we have already been open for a year. Special shoutouts go to the culinary team for an extra delicious happy hour spread today, our singer Greg Piscura, staff who showed up and helped set up, and of course to all of our wonderful residents who make Vitalia Highland Heights a wonderful, special place to be. Here is to another wonderful year!

Yesterday was our monthly Wellness Wednesday! This month, our focus was on fall prevention. Fall prevention is critical for seniors because falls are a leading cause of fatal and non-fatal injuries, often leading to hip fractures, head injuries, and decreased mobility, which threaten independence. Prevention helps maintain ability to perform daily activities, reduces fear of falling, and lowers healthcare costs. Strategies include home safety modifications, regular exercise to improve balance and strength, reviewing medications, ensuring proper footwear, and maintaining good vision and hearing.

For week we wanted to celebrate our neighbors at Advanced Healtchare of Landerhaven in Mayfield Heights. They’ve been there for some of our residents on numerous occasions and we just wanted to say Thank You. We stopped off and got them some afternoon sweet treats at Dunkin for a little pick me up!
