"I am thrilled to share that 31 South was recently featured in NPR news and by Rising Tide Capital. It brings me immense joy to witness the growth of this project.

Today, on March 17, 2024, I will be pitching the project to the Highland Park Community Center at 1:00 pm. My goal is to obtain sponsorship for two out of the twenty-one doors that are required to complete the project. If you happen to be in town, feel free to stop by and show your support."

projects like 31 South, a collaborative effort with Martin Calvino, exploring the historical ramifications of redlining, Daniel navigates the intricacies of discrimination and opportunity with profound insight.

Central to Daniel’s work are the symbolic doors, each representing a pathway to opportunity or a barrier imposed by systemic inequality. These doors, sourced from discarded materials, serve as poignant metaphors for segregation and the enduring struggle for equitable access.

Raised in Argentina and later returning to the United States with a determination instilled by her grandfather, Daniel embodies resilience and entrepreneurial spirit. Her journey from Los Angeles to New York reflects a personal quest for self-expression and societal change.

Beyond her artistic endeavors, Daniel is committed to community empowerment. Through workshops and educational initiatives, she seeks to demystify concepts like homeownership, credit building, and mortgage processes. Her collaboration with nonprofits like Materials for the Arts and other local
organizations underscores her dedication to fostering a more equitable society.

Looking ahead, Daniel envisions expanding her installation projects to encompass a comprehensive narrative of American opportunity and its systemic challenges. Internship Description:
As a Marketing and Communications Liaison at Nice2MeetU, you will be crucial in shaping our collective's public image and promoting our events, exhibitions, and initiatives. You will create and execute marketing strategies, manage our online presence, and establish strong relationships with our audience and partners.
Responsibilities:
Develop comprehensive marketing and communication plans to promote Nice2MeetU and its activities.
Manage and maintain our website, social media platforms, and email marketing campaigns.
Create engaging and visually appealing content, including blog posts, social media updates, newsletters, and press releases.
Collaborate with artists, curators, and event organizers to gather and create content that showcases our collective's work.
Build strong relationships with local media, art publications, and influencers to secure media coverage and partnerships.
Coordinate and manage marketing budgets and expenses effectively.
Analyze and report on the effectiveness of marketing efforts, making data-driven recommendations for improvements.

Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in a degree program at a community college or university, all majors are welcome. Proficiency in social media platforms, content management systems, and email marketing tools.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Good organizational and project management skills.
Creativity and an eye for design are a plus.
Passion for the arts, community engagement, and social justice.
Appreciation for artistic diversity is a must.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a creative and fast-paced environment.
Experience in the art or cultural sector is a plus.

The rationale for the Weaving Narrative project:

Writing or sharing a personal story can be self-soothing and is an intervention to support the healing of a person who might be going through or has experienced trauma.

Weaving in itself is a meditative and calming process.
