Meredith Wood is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology. Meredith Wood's psychotherapy practice offers individual, conjoint, family and group psychotherapy. Meredith Wood, LMFT proudly serves veterans, active duty, reservists, their caregivers, families and their loved ones. Meredith Wood is the former Chairperson of the Lake County Su***de Prevention

Task Force. Meredith Wood has clinical experience working with persons of diverse cultures, lifestyles and ages in a variety of clinical settings. Meredith Wood's specialties include trauma (PTSD, MST, human trafficking), active duty military, veterans and their family members, adolescent development, family life cycle changes (birth of a child, adolescent leaving for college, divorce, separation and co-parenting), self-injury, self-esteem and empowerment. Other areas of clinical experience include issues related to sexual health and sexual identity, anxiety, sibling relationship difficulties, vocational coaching (artists, writers), the LGBTQIA community, alternative relationships, stress reduction, healthy relationships, dysthymia and depression, grief/loss, individuals infected/affected with HIV/AIDS, and chronic illnesses which effect the mind, body, spirit and family system.
2022 New Law- If you pay out of pocket or choose to not utilize insurance you are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate of the costs that you could pay for services rendered (ie: cost per session x frequency of sessions (1x, 2x, 3x, 4x month) for a year, administrative costs etc. It is an estimate so that there are no hidden costs and you can make an informed decision. Updated Information and Documents will be made available as the particulars of this law are shared with practitioners.

We invite you to participate in a fundraiser on 3/08/26 for the Illinois Affiliation for Marriage & Family Therapy
Grab dinner at Chipotle- Northbrook location, for you and your family. Pick up food with friends. There is a code to include if you order ahead. When ordering in person just tell them you purchase supports IAMFT.
Why is IAMFT sponsoring this fundraiser? The Illinois Marriage and Family Therapy Licensing Act is scheduled to sunset on January 1, 2027.
This means our ability to practice in the state of IL as an LMFT will automatically expire on that date unless we ensure that the Licensure Act is renewed during the 2026 legislative session.
This impacts anyone in IL with an LMFT, an
ALMFT, or currently in a graduate program to become an MFT.
