Thanksgiving is right around the corner. Together, with the Highland Park Police Department and Highland Park Volunteer Fire Department, the first responders that serve the community are coming together with Zone 6 HP Teen Center to serve Highland Park, New Jersey.

While many may be able to enjoy a great turkey feast later this month, there are also many in the community that could use a helping hand. Please consider dropping off non-perishable food items between today and November 17th. Donations can be dropped off in the lobby of the Highland Park Police Department at 222 South Fifth Avenue.

***Update***

As of 9:40 p.m. the traffic signal has once again been repaired. Traffic flow is back to normal. The morning commute will not be impacted. Go ahead and enjoy the Northern Lights!

Evidently the traffic signal at River Road and Cedar Lane has a target on it. Please avoid the area as there are delays due to the damaged signal. HPPD will be on scene assisting with traffic until personnel can arrive to make the necessary repairs. We will advise when the signal is once again functioning.

Please be advised that the Mayor and Council will hold a “Bringing Government to your Community” forum on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 from 6:30 pm-7:30 pm on Merilind Avenue next to the Irving School, Highland Park NJ. The theme for the meeting is public safety and there will be representatives from the governing body along with members of the Highland Park Police Department, Highland Park Fire Department and Highland Park First Aid Squad to gather resident concerns and ideas.
