It’s been a busy few weeks here at Freedom Home Care, and in the best way possible!

One of our nurses Mia, spoke at The Lodge of Northbrook, sharing insights on nutrition and the updated food pyramid. We also participated in a health panel at the Glenview Senior Center, visited with new residents (Freddy came along🐻), took part in the MLK Day of Service, and wrapped it up by giving out our raffle prize.

We’re grateful for all these opportunities to connect, educate, and serve and we’re looking forward to another busy few weeks ahead!

Glaucoma is a leading cause of irreversible blindness, but vision loss can often be prevented when it’s found early. If you are 60+ or have a family history of glaucoma, make a resolution this year to:

✅ Schedule a dilated eye exam.

✅ Take eye drops or medications exactly as prescribed.

✅ Ask for help with transportation or reminders if needed.

What an incredible turnout and a truly meaningful event yesterday at the Highland Park Rec Center Day of Service in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

So many community members stopped by our booth to help make Valentine’s Day cards for seniors, and it was wonderful meeting everyone. It’s inspiring to see our community come together for such a special cause!

Today we recognize National Without a Scalpel Day, a reminder that not all healing requires surgery.

Freedom Home Care is proud to participate with the City of Highland Park and the Sustainability Advisory Group in the Reuse-A-Shoe initiative.

We’re collecting new, gently used, or worn shoes. Shoes should be paired, tied together with laces or a rubber band, and bagged.
