In this video, Dr. Andrew Keenan shares why our free monthly OCD Support Group matters — creating space for education, connection, and hope.

At the CBT Center, we’re passionate about making Better Access to Better Care a reality — because everyone deserves the support they need to thrive.

We encourage you to join our group, whether you are living with OCD or supporting someone who is. It is important to have a proper understanding of OCD! Let's keep this conversation going in the comments...what does mean to you and what can we do to support you?

🌍 World Mental Health Day is today,
but at the CBT Center, we celebrate it every day.

💚 Because mental health is health. 💙

Our mission is simple:
Better access to better care.

That means full hour sessions,
real collaboration,
and a team that works together on what matters to you.

💙 It’s Mental Illness Awareness Week, a reminder that mental health is health.

Our publisher, New Harbinger Publications, is offering 30% off all titles through October 11, including The Motivational Interviewing Path to Personal Change by our own Dr. Michelle Drapkin. 🌿

We’re all about making evidence-based care more accessible, and this is one small (and awesome) way to do just that.

💙✨ Did you know our very own Dr. Michelle Drapkin is the author of The Motivational Interviewing Path to Personal Change?

🌿 This book is all about helping you uncover your “why,” build healthier habits, and take steps toward the life you want — one at a time.

At the CBT Center, we believe in Better Access to Better Care — and this book is one more way to put evidence-based strategies into your hands.

💡 Curious to explore it? What’s one change you’ve been thinking about making lately?

OCD Week is NEXT WEEK!!! We’re kicking it off with a free, virtual movie screening and discussion of Anxiety Club! Register at https://bit.ly/OCDawareness or scan the QR code on the flyer.

🍿OCD New Jersey invites you to a special private screening of ANXIETY CLUB, a new documentary that provides a humorous and heartfelt look at anxiety through the eyes of some of the most brilliant (and anxious) comedians working today. On Monday, October 13th at 7:30 pm ET, we will host a virtual screening of the 86-minute film followed by a Q&A. 🍿

✨ANXIETY CLUB, which had its world premiere in November at DOC NYC film festival (the first of 30 festival invitations) and recently won a Mental Health America Media Award, follows Tiffany Jenkins – a comedian and author with millions of followers – as she undergoes exposure therapy. Meditation teacher Tara Brach, Ph.D leads comedian Joe List through a guided meditation to help him transcend his fears and anxieties. Tiffany, Joe, and comedians Marc Maron, Aparna Nancherla, Mark Normand, Baron Vaughn, and Eva Victor offer candid reflections on their relationship with anxiety through exclusive interviews, standup performances, sketch videos and more.✨

Happy World Smile Day! 😄 Smiles aren’t just contagious, they can actually change the way we feel. In CBT, we learn that small actions, like noticing positive moments or shifting our thoughts, can make a big difference in our mood. Today, let’s celebrate the power of a smile, for ourselves and for others. 💛

Something like even a half-smile has an impact - here is how to do the half-smile!
Half-Smile:
- A half-smile is a small, gentle lift of your lips—just enough for you to feel it, not necessarily for anyone to see. It’s relaxed, subtle, and natural, not tense or forced.
- Relax your face from head to chin, let the corners of your lips rise slightly, and adopt a serene expression. Your face communicates with your brain—this tiny shift can actually help improve your mood!

Mental health isn’t just a week—it’s a journey, a daily practice, and a reminder that your feelings are valid. 💚 It takes courage to face the tough days, to ask for help, and to keep moving forward even when it feels impossible.

This week, let’s celebrate resilience, create safe spaces to talk, and remind ourselves that self-care is not selfish—it’s essential. Together, we break the stigma and lift each other up.

Every life has a story worth telling. 💛
Even when the pages feel blank or the words don’t come easily, your story is still being written, and it matters. 🌿

🌿 Small steps can make a big difference in your mental health. Taking a walk, journaling your thoughts, calling a friend, or practicing a grounding exercise can help you feel calmer, more present, and more in control. 💛

✨ Grounding exercises are simple ways to bring your focus back to the present — like noticing what you can see, hear, and feel, or taking a few deep breaths to center yourself.

Remember: even tiny actions matter. You are taking care of yourself, and that’s powerful. 🫶

🍂 We’re excited to welcome our Fall Intern, Kiara! Each semester, we’re fortunate to have a dedicated student join our team and bring their own unique interests and perspectives. Kiara is majoring in Psychology with minors in Criminology and Sociology, and she has a strong passion for clinical psychology. Kiara will be gaining hands-on experience and learning more about cognitive behavioral therapy in practice while also supporting our office through social media. We look forward to seeing all that she will contribute this semester! ✨
