Swipe to the end to see pasty skinny me in high school!
Growing up in Staten Island, NY, I played baseball, basketball, & a ton of freeze tag when I wasn't playing video games.
In high school, I played lacrosse and wrestled. I also started going to the gym to get in better shape. I was pretty clueless when it came to fitness, but I did my best.
As wrestling ended, I weighed 189lbs. Wanting to get bigger, I turned to my friend Jonny for help. He had been bodybuilding for some time and was very fit. Luckily, he was kind enough to take me under his wing and teach me everything he knew. I started lifting with him after school 5x/week and quickly became addicted to fitness.
As a tall lanky guy, I wanted to fill out my 6'2" frame. With Jonny's encouragement & guidance, I grew. We trained as hard as possible every session and spent our free time studying how to build muscle. We both got accepted to Rutgers University where we planned to study Exercise Physiology as roommates.
When I got to Rutgers, I had already gained over 20lbs and was a man on a mission. Jonny and I met , another aspiring bodybuilder, and we got to work. In my freshman year, I bulked up to 230lbs (my heaviest ever!) and did my first cut to get lean. This is when I first learned how to track calories and macros.
One year later and I was dieting again -- this time to get even leaner. I made it to 187lbs before I decided it was time to get big again. Over the next two years, I kept training with the goal of competing in a bodybuilding contest. But sometime in my senior year I had a change of heart and decided to focus on other areas of life.
After graduating, I worked as a personal trainer on campus and then a private gym. In 2015, I decided to create Feel Think Fit and began offering in-home personal training.
Fast forward to today, and fitness is still my passion. I've always genuinely enjoyed helping people, whether they're a complete newbie or a battle-hardened athlete. Everyone is on a fitness journey whether they realize it or not. Thank you for taking the time to learn about mine.
