Dr. Audrey L. Stansbury – Dentist, Leader, State Fair Champion!
This month, we’re honored to spotlight the amazing Dr. Audrey Stansbury, owner of Highland Village Dental and one of our most passionate volunteer dentists.
She’s been giving her time to First Refuge since 2017 after joining our Director of Dental Services, Kellie McDaniel, since the clinic they both served for 6 years in Lewisville closed.
Dr. Stansbury’s journey is one of grit, grace, and great recipes. A mother of two who returned to college not once, but twice, first to become a dental hygienist, then a dentist, Audrey embodies the heart of service.
"I am able to bless others by providing free or discounted oral health services because the Lord has blessed me," she shares. "Luke 12:48 is my guide: 'From everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, even more will be expected. (CSB)"
But that’s not all: Dr. Audrey is also a former President of the Lewisville Noon Rotary Club, a proud Army brat with a Japanese-American upbringing, a loving wife of 43 years, and a grandmother.
Oh, and did we mention she won first place at the State Fair of Texas® for her Apple Nut-Nutmeg Cake? Her award-winning recipe even made it into the official cookbook!
