The first time I met Love
My heart was broken
and I asked
“How could you have betrayed me?”
And Love replied
“It was your expectations.
I am incapable of betrayal.”

The second time I met Love
My spirit felt crushed
and I asked
“How could you have hurt me?”
And Love replied
“It was your reaction to the situation.
I am incapable of causing pain.”

The third time I met Love
My energy was drained
and I asked
“How could you have depleted me?”
And Love replied
“It was your lack of self-love and failure to set appropriate boundaries.
I am incapable of depleting you.”

The fourth time I met Love
My entire being felt alone
and I asked
“How could you have abandoned me?”
And Love replied
“I am always with you and can never leave you,
As I dwell within you.”

The fifth time I met Love
My soul felt vulnerable, naked and exposed
and I asked
“How could you have embarrassed me?"
And Love replied
“It was your ego that caused you to feel embarrassed.
I am incapable of experiencing or causing shame.”

The sixth time I met Love
Anger rippled through me
and I asked
“How could you have taken from me?”
And Love replied
“I cannot take from you.
I give while asking for nothing in return
As I am unconditional.”

The seventh time I met Love
A deep sense of sadness pervaded me
and I asked
“How could you have fooled me and then used me?”
And Love replied rather gently and compassionately
“Do not mistake someone’s inability to love you
For the truth of who I am.”

And the eighth and final time I met Love
I greeted it as an old friend
Free from expectations, heartbreak, pain, shame and conditions
And Love embraced me and said
“Now you truly know me.”

I have been fascinated by ‘dark matter’ and my continued practice is making peace with the mystery …within and outside of my I/eye. 😊

Loved what Jeff Foster writes…

I have many practices where I allow myself to get ‘fu$ked’ , ‘devoured’ ‘Eaten’ and I use those words on purpose as the is exactly how it feels for me.

As I find I get so full of myself and I do want to remember my light.❤️🥰

The urge to die is the urge to disappear as a separate self, to vanish into the vastness of Being, to rest deeply, as we have never rested before.

The urge to die is the wave’s urge to return to the ocean... forgetting that it was never divided from the ocean in the first place.

The urge to die is not negative, sick, dark or sinful, but a deeply, deeply misunderstood aspect of our being. We ignore this urge, push it away, hide it, medicate it, keep it a secret, try to numb ourselves to it or even philosophize it away. But when acknowledged, honoured, brought out of the darkness and into the light, even the “suicidal” urge, the urge to shed our false skin, contains infinite intelligence. All feelings do.

(I’m not talking about acting it out. I’m talking about facing it, understanding it, hearing its deeper call of transformation.)

The urge to die is the urge to awaken, to come alive again, to restart life, to stop identifying as a separate body-mind, to remember our original nature, vast and free.

It is the urge to shed the false 'me' (ego, self, persona, mask) to stop pretending to be something we are not, to let go of all that is second-hand and inauthentic, and to live, to really live, fearless and free, as consciousness itself, full of life and potential and cosmic creativity!

The urge to die is not our enemy - it is not to be annihilated and not to be feared. It contains a profound message of awakening and change. It says, shouts, screams, "You are not limited to what you think you are! You are a child of the Universe, remember, deserving of all its riches! Only the false can die, and you cannot be false!"

Can we hear its deeper call? Can we listen, really listen to what’s underneath?

The wave cannot return to the ocean, cannot get Home. It was never divided from its Home in the first place. You are already Oceanic, you see, and the true “suicide” is not the stopping of the body-mind but the remembrance of your original and unblemished nature, here and now, beyond the ravages of time, beyond what the world wants you to be.

When you find yourself drowning in self-hate, you have to remind yourself that you weren’t born feeling this way.

That at some point in your journey, some person or experience sent you the message that there was something wrong with who you are, and you internalized those messages and took them on as your truth.

But that hate isn’t yours to carry, and those judgments aren’t about you. And in the same way that you learned to think badly of yourself, you can learn to think new, self-loving and accepting thoughts.

You can learn to challenge those beliefs, take away their power, and reclaim your own. It won’t be easy, and it won’t happen over night. But it is possible. And it starts when you decide that there has to be more to life than this pain you feel. It starts when you decide that you deserve to discover it.

How much do you risk being love, and by love I mean being love itself.

Which to me is Eros. (Different than romantic love, agape, etc) And can you cultive Eros in a relationship with ‘other.’

It is scary…some say it is dark…..as it seems dangerous. I say it is magical and divine.

An Eros (love) relationship means that one is able to tell the other person the reality of one’s experiences over its full range and to tell it in a personal way.

It is not telling mediated by collective images or values nor the “should” or “oughts” of parental or authoritarian injunction.

It is the telling of personal things. It is telling the truth of one’s thoughts, feelings, emotions, sensations, intuitions.

It is keeping nothing back behind facades.

It is not bargaining. “I’ll tell if you tell” is not Eros.

One tells all at great risk; one exposes one’s true reality, reveals it to the other in all its horror and delight, the full range.

No barriers, no walls, no hidden prisons for secrets. It is holding nothing back; it is nakedness to another.

If one can do that in relationship, Eros will be there.

We often hesitate to tell for fear we will hurt the other person, or that the other can’t take it or will take it wrong, or will run away.

That is when we wrongfully wound another person; that is cruelty.

We try to manage what we tell, to censor, to play games. The most cruel thing is to withhold our reality from one another.

Telling our reality will hurt; it hurts us and it hurts the other. But such hurt is proper to relationship; it belongs.

The cruelty of not telling each other our reality destroys the possibility of relationship and reduces human interaction to form and sham; it is a perversion of Psyche and a shutting-out of Eros.

When we truly tell one another, when we can speak so deeply, Eros, as Jung says, becomes “not transference… no ordinary friendship or sympathy. It is more primitive, more primeval, and more spiritual than anything we can describe…

And this is what I crave….Eros ❤️

There is no distance, but immediate presence.”

It is love seeing it in its own darkness ….rich…intoxicating….and if both can practice …endless possibilities for expansion.
