Hello all! We have some exciting news!!!

Starting Friday we will be switching communication systems from Weave back to PetDesk! We want to start off by thanking everyone for the past 2.5 years of using Weave with us. While there were some great benefits, PetDesk has come back new and improved!!
Most excitingly, there is an app that will be useable for this change. It is super user friendly and easy to request appointments, medication refills, etc.

On Friday, there will be an email that comes from PetDesk to download the app. If you are already an existing member of the PetDesk app, it will show Animal Wellness Hospital as a clinic for you!

Please bare with us during this transition as we are sure some hiccups and mistakes will be made! We are so excited to be able to have an easier communication process and hope you are as well! 🐾

Quick hours update today: we will be in a staff training today from 12:30-2pm. During this time we will be closed with phones off so everyone can participate! 🐾

If you are to have a medical emergency for your fur baby please still come over. If you need to pick up any medications or food please come by before 12:30 or after 2!

Here is a brief list of holiday hazards for pets thanks to ASPCA!!
Friendly reminder we are closed Wednesday December 24th, Thursday December 25th AND Friday December 26th!

Help us find a home for the Greek Goddess Athena!!

Athena is a 4 year old, very sweet and affectionate Husky/Shephard mix , 58 pounds. Athena is spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations.
She loves male dogs and kitty cats but can be particular about her female canine companions.

Athena is sadly in a place where her current family can no-longer care for her and she needs a new furr-ever home. She is well mannered in the home and is not destructive, but her favorite past time is having some fun chew toys to keep her mind busy. Being a husky mix it is important that she is leash walked or has a fenced-in yard to romp and play in. Despite Athena being a husky mix she does not have a history of running away or escaping from her home.

Athena can be shy at first with new people but warms up quickly and desires lots of attention and love. If your family may be interested in Athena please reach out to Sam Deyton at (828)592-1288

It’s that time of year again! It is the 9th annual CHHS Stuff the Stockings for the more than 110 animals currently in their care!

For the 9th year in a row, every CHHS shelter pet has a personalized stocking and we are filling them with food, toys, treats and supplies including: crunchy dog treats, bully sticks and Busy Bones; cat treats; canned food and dry kibble (Purina dog chow, cat chow, puppy and kitten chow); stuffed toys and durable toys for dogs such as Kongs; interactive toys for cats and kittens; pet supplies including Sporn harnesses, slow feeder bowls, cat scratching posts, dog and cat beds, and small fleece blankets.

🎅 Stuff the Stockings presents can be purchased and/or dropped off at local participating sponsors 🎄Paws on the Mountain, Cashiers Valley Pharmacy, Highlands Hiker in Cashiers, Animal Wellness Hospital of Highlands, and Highlands Mountain Paws🎄 brought to the shelter or shipped via UPS or FedEx to: CHHS, 200 Gable Drive, Sapphire, NC 28774. Stuff the Stockings goodies can also be found and shipped from our online wish lists at Chewy and Amazon (links below).
