Jillian Hunt’s desire to contribute more meaningfully to patient care led her to pursue an advanced degree and transition into the role of an oncology nurse practitioner. Today Jillian serves as the Executive Director of Clinical Operations for a nonprofit oncology advisory program, funded through philanthropy, that provides comprehensive services including care navigation, clinical trial investigation, financial navigation, and psychosocial support.

Jillian joined ASPHO seven years ago because it is the only organization dedicated exclusively to advanced practitioners in oncology. She is entering her first year as Chair-Elect of the Education Committee and is excited to contribute to JADPRO Live planning.

APSHO was acknowledged as a national stakeholder and honored to be invited to contribute our perspective on the future of the cancer workforce to the President’s Cancer Panel. Strengthening the hematology/oncology workforce is essential to ensuring timely, high‑quality cancer care for every patient.

The Panel’s 2026 report highlights the critical need for collaboration, education, and improved support systems across cancer care teams. It called out APSHO as providing postgraduate oncology education.
