Here are some tips to ensure that your spine is staying as healthy as possible:
1️⃣ Maintain Good Posture
Whether you’re sitting, standing, or sleeping, posture matters. Keep your shoulders back, ears aligned over your shoulders, and avoid slouching. When sitting, make sure your feet are flat on the floor and your screen is at eye level.
2️⃣ Stay Active
Movement is life for your spine! Regular exercise strengthens your back and core muscles, which help stabilize and protect your spinal joints. Walking, stretching, yoga, and resistance training are all excellent options.
3️⃣ Lift the Right Way
When lifting, bend at your knees—not your waist. Keep the object close to your body and use your legs to power the movement. Avoid twisting while lifting heavy items.
4️⃣ Sleep Smart
A good mattress and supportive pillow are essential. Sleeping on your back or side is typically best for spinal alignment. If you’re a side sleeper, place a pillow between your knees to reduce stress on your lower back.
5️⃣ Stay Hydrated
Your spinal discs rely on fluid to cushion and protect your vertebrae. Drink plenty of water throughout the day to help keep them healthy and flexible.
6️⃣ Get Regular Chiropractic Checkups
