🌸 October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month 🌸

At WovenCare Advocacy Services, we stand united in support of survivors, families, and communities impacted by domestic violence. This month, we shine a light on the often hidden trauma that affects millions of people every year, regardless of age, gender, race, or background.

💜 Did You Know?

1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have experienced some form of physical violence by an intimate partner.
On average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States.
Many victims feel isolated and unsure of where to turn for help. But there is hope, and you are not alone.
At WovenCare, we are here to support those who feel trapped, unheard, and unseen.
Our Domestic Violence Prevention initiative provides resources, advocacy, and compassionate care to help survivors reclaim their safety and independence. We are committed to breaking the cycle of abuse and fostering a future where everyone can feel safe in their own homes.

🧵 Threads of Hope: Preventing Su***de Together 🧵

Did you know that the su***de rate among African Americans has continued to elevate over the last 4 years. The rates are particularly high among young Black men, adolescents, and young adults aged 15 to 24. September is Su***de Prevention Month, and WovenCare Advocacy Services is proud to launch "Threads of Hope: Preventing Su***de Together" – a 30-day initiative dedicated to spreading awareness, fostering hope, and encouraging positive action to prevent su***de in our communities.

Why Su***de Prevention Matters:

Every 11 minutes, someone dies by su***de in the United States. Behind every statistic is a life, a family, a community impacted by a loss that could have been prevented. This month, we stand united to break the silence, eliminate stigma, and offer hope to those who may feel like they're walking alone in the darkness.

🌟 What to Expect Over the Next 30 Days: 🌟

For the next 30 days, we invite you to join us on a journey of hope, healing, and action. Throughout the month, we will post a challenge designed to inspire, connect, and empower our community. These challenges will range from sharing stories of resilience and hope to engaging in self-care activities and learning how to support someone in crisis.

Together, we will:

Raise Awareness: Understand the realities of mental health and the importance of early intervention.
Encourage Positive Action: Simple daily challenges that can make a big difference—both for yourself and others.
