✨ New X-ray Safety Update ✨
You may notice something different at your next appointment—no more heavy lead apron!
The American Dental Association recently updated its guidelines on dental X-rays. Thanks to modern digital technology and safer imaging practices, lead aprons and thyroid collars are no longer recommended—even for children and pregnant women.
✅ Digital X-rays use extremely low levels of radiation.
✅ The beam is carefully focused only where needed.
✅ Removing the apron actually helps us get the best image the first time—meaning fewer X-rays overall.
👉 While the ADA says aprons are unnecessary, your comfort is our priority. If you’d still like to wear one, just let us know and we’ll be happy to provide it.
At Nicolette Family Dental, your health and peace of mind always come first. 💙🦷
