IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON OXYGEN FROM MYMichigan
Oxygen Refill Station Opens Tuesday at MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena
ALPENA, Mich. – Beginning Tuesday, March 17, MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena will host a portable trailer to refill oxygen tanks for area emergency personnel and community members who rely on portable oxygen.
The refill trailer will be located in the visitor parking lot near the HealthPlex South Entrance on the MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena campus, 1501 W. Chisholm Street. Volunteers will be available to fill tanks Tuesday, March 17, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Wednesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
All portable oxygen tanks without regulators can be filled at the trailer. Individuals should bring their tanks with regulators removed. Volunteers will be on-site to assist with the refill process.
“We are once again grateful to the State Police Emergency Management and the Regional Health Coalition for deploying this portable oxygen refill trailer for our community members,” said Mike Erickson, market president, MyMichigan Medical Centers in Alpena, Saginaw, Standish, Tawas and Towne Centre. “This service will help ensure that those who rely on portable oxygen continue to have access during the community’s recovery from another incredible winter storm.”
MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena has been on full power since approximately noon on Monday, March 16. While some offices closed Monday due to the winter storm, the Medical Center expects to resume normal outpatient appointments, procedures and testing, including provider clinics and Urgent Care, on Tuesday, March 17.
Community members are encouraged to continue monitoring local updates as recovery efforts continue across Northeast Michigan.
