Did you know that there are different types of hysterectomies? Partial hysterectomies remove only a portion of the uterus while leaving the uterus. Total hysterectomies remove the entire uterus and cervix, and hysterectomy and salpingo-oophorectomies remove the uterus and one or both of a woman's ovaries and fallopian tubes.

While bacterial vaginosis (BV) can sometimes go away on its own, it's still important to get tested and receive treatment. According to the CDC, if gone untreated, BV can raise your chances of contracting HIV if you are intimate with someone who is HIV positive and a higher possibility of passing along HIV if you are HIV positive. BV also puts you at a greater risk of contracting other STDs, pelvic inflammatory disease, and having an early delivery if you have BV while pregnant.
