This week, Hillsboro Medical Center was honored to host Dr. Histake Fujii and Dr. Yoko Fujii from Yatsuo General Hospital located in Toyama, Japan. 🇯🇵🏥

Our hospital participated in an exchange program with Japan’s Yatsuo General Hospital that began in 1992 and lasted for more than 20 years.⚕️

Though this exchange program no longer exists, we are proud to continue this tradition of learning from one another in our shared mission to build healthier communities. ✨

Hillsboro Medical Center is proud to present the October 2025 DAISY Foundation Awards to three deserving registered nurses who work in our Medical Surgical Unit and in Wound Care.

Allison B., Suerte T. and Katie A. were all recognized by a patient as they “demonstrated care that was above and beyond.”

Whether it was helping the patient manage their pain, offering a warm blanket or checking in with the patient's loved one, they all provided exceptional care.

As Veterans Day approaches, we’d like to recognize two of our own heroes here at Hillsboro Medical Center. ✨

Security officer Tommy L. (pictured left) and chaplain Wes M. (pictured right) both recently deployed overseas with the Oregon Army National Guard to serve our country. 🇺🇸

We are pleased they have both returned home safely and are proud of the positive difference they continue to make serving our community at our hospital.

At Hillsboro Medical Center, October has transformed into ! 🧦

That’s thanks to our amazing Environmental Services and Food & Nutrition Services partners at Compass One who are hosting a donation drive this month to collect new socks for local homeless shelters. ❤️

So far, they have impressively collected over 1,000 pairs of socks! ✨

If you'd like to support this great cause, please bring new and unused socks to the donation bin outside of our cafeteria until Oct. 31!

I went into hand surgery because I like caring for both younger and older patients as well as treating a wide variety of conditions.

My goal is to try to make every patient feel like they are being treated thoroughly and get to know them.
