March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, and we want to take this opportunity to remind you that the recommended age to start colorectal cancer screening is 45.

In Oregon, colorectal cancer is the fourth most common type of cancer diagnosed and the fourth leading cause of cancer death. Colorectal cancer is also increasing in people under 50. Although many people don’t want to think about or deal with colorectal cancer screening, it can save your life!

Talk to your health care provider now about getting screened. If you don’t have a provider, call 211 for assistance.
