✨🌕 Full Moon is this Sunday…🌕✨

The full moon has a way of stirring things up, emotions rise to the surface, energy runs high and sleep can be illusive…anyone feeling me here?

In yoga and Vedic wisdom, the full moon is a time of illumination, what’s hidden thoughts come into light for us to look at.

✨What if you flipped the script, what if instead of it being hard it was an opportunity each month to reflect and listen. I teach moon cycles as an invitation to pause, breathe and listen. It’s not woo woo, it’s nature. An opportunity to notice what’s ready to be released, what feels too heavy to carry and where you can soften.

Here are the poses I reach for outside of normal classes to navigate the full moon -

💛 Cat/cow
💛 Forward folds and Rag doll
💛 Low lunges with intelligent back bends cupping the palm to the elbows
💛 Lizard
💛 Sphinx
💛Happy Baby

IN,IN, OUT breathwork pattern - passionately expressing yang energy then solely balancing the YIN energy ( you remember this from class)

✨Sit quietly under the sky with a warm tea and bring a tall glass of water with you. Begin to write out all your frustrations on a small piece of paper - internally within yourself and external with the world releasing all levels of resistance, then drown the paper in your glass of water watching the ink bleed into the water, let it GO!!

Remember, you don’t need to control the tides, only learn to flow with them. 💫⚖️

Living intentionally bring awareness to your patterns, behaviours and internal rhythms, mastering your mind and the internal landscape is the first step to personal liberation…

✨💛Many students come to yoga for movement. They stay for the stillness.

Yoga is really about finding that sweet spot, the balance between yin and yang. The stillness and the movement, the softness and the strength.

When we flow and build energy we touch the yang. When we slow down and sink into stillness, we nourish the yin.

With regular practice, these two begin to support each other. We feel more steady, more whole. More ourselves.

We begin to reach for more tenderness, listening, softening and then caring for ourselves more deeply.

With time it stops being about “doing yoga” and starts being about being cared for BY your yoga…

✨💛Balance your yin and yang. Bring tenderness to yourself. Meet me on your mat, you will FEEL the difference…

💛✨Everything I lose creates space for something new I need…

This week in class we are exploring Aparigraha, practicing non attachment. This is one of the yamas in yoga.

Often we feel contentment and safety when things are where they should be. When they make sense and have some projected and attached sense of being ‘right’ in some way or form.

These attachments to hundreds and thousands of ‘rights’ in our daily life - the right feeling, the right place, the right people… these attachments prolong us our suffering…they also remove us from our power in the moment and the breath…

When we learn to observe our attachments without judgement, sit with kindness with the parts of ourselves that still need to find safety, and with time become friends with the growth and purpose to these limiting patterns. These are frustrating are limiting, but they are serving us, a delusion of safety…for now it’s enough… 🙏💛true safety in yourself will come with this, this is the yoga, meeting yourself at your current edge and softening, breathing the safety into every moment…✨

At CENTRE we flow and breathe, but we also sit and observe.

We are all on our own journeys of becoming, it’s beautiful and feels MUCH better when we reach for it together in community. 💛✨
