Callie McBroom, MSW, LCSWA, CSW

Callie McBroom, MSW, LCSWA, CSW Counseling & Consulting Services I am also a Certified Social Worker (CSW) and a Licensed School Social Worker (LSSW) in the state of North Carolina.

I specialize in providing individual psychotherapy and conducting clinical evaluations for diagnosing adult ADHD and Autism, and court-involved immigration cases. I am licensed in the state of North Carolina (P017947) and have been practicing psychotherapy since obtaining my Master's of Social Work degree in 2022, from North Carolina Central University. I have provided clinical evaluations, therapy, and comprehensive case management for hundreds of individuals struggling with a wide range of psychiatric disorders. I have 23 years of social work experience in the fields of child welfare, education, and community mental health. I provide comprehensive clinical evaluations and therapy for clients who suffer from anxiety, depression, PTSD, and trauma. Since 2022, I have been in private practice, providing psychological assessments and therapy for adults and adolescents. I obtained advanced training from the Immigration Evaluation Training Center with Georgia King. To date, I have conducted more than 100 assessments, evaluations, and formal reports to District Courts, combined, and provided testimony in criminal and civil proceedings. Over the years, I have also provided workshops, spoke at conferences, and have been part of several community-action committees, professional and non-profit boards, and provided advocacy for vulnerable populations. I am a proud member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), the North Carolina Chapter of the NASW, and the National Organization of Forensic Social Workers (NOFSW). My Approach:

As a clinical social worker, I take a holistic approach, aiming to uncover the root causes of emotional and mental pain. I employ trauma-informed, person-centered, and strengths-based methods. My toolkit includes evidence-based approaches such as DBT, ACT, CBT, MI, and Mindfulness. I also view experiences through a trauma-focused lens, understanding how past events shape self-perception. As a solution-focused, strength-based therapist, I work with you to problem-solve barriers which prevent you from living your best life. I love working with adolescents, teens, young adults, and adults to help improve relationships, identify and reach personal goals, and offer a neutral safe space to process life's challenges. Ideal Client:

You are my ideal client if you are someone who is motivated and ready to work towards personal goals. You recognize that what you have been doing is not working and you are ready to make changes! I am someone who is open and honest, and will provide space for you to “get the garbage” out of your system, while helping you stay on track to achieve your goals. My Journey

My own journey into social work began as a middle school student in a counseling group for “at-risk” students. This experience, guided by an exceptional clinical social worker, shaped my life. He taught me to consider all facets of life when making decisions and inspired me to give back to my community. I earned my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree at East Carolina University, becoming the first in my family to attend college. While completing my degree, I married a Marine, which led to a diverse career providing social work services across various communities. In 2022, I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from North Carolina Central University, solidifying my path as a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate (LCSWA). Special Focus in Therapy:

Emerging Adults: I have a special interest in middle school through college-aged students, especially given the impact of COVID-19 on their lives. Having witnessed firsthand the challenges they faced during school closures, as a Licensed School Social Worker, I aim to provide comprehensive support to help them regain control and empowerment in their lives. Let’s work together to cultivate “a life worth living.” I look forward to connecting with you and providing the support you need on your journey. Military-Connected Individuals, Dependents, and Veterans: I have a unique affinity for working with military service-connected individuals and their families. Being a Marine Veteran’s wife, I comprehend the challenges and rewards tied to military life. I’m a registered provider with Star Behavioral Health Providers, specializing in the field of military psychotherapy. LGBTQ+ Individuals, Allies, and Family Members: I am committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive space for the LGBTQ+ community. I am a proud Allie who has had to navigate religious trauma because of my own connection to the Southern Baptist faith. I understand the complexities of navigating religious trauma and can help individuals find their path, as well as support family members who may be working through their own understanding of how they can support their loved ones going through this process. Just used AI to help me develop three SMART goals, which use ACT as a treatment modality.

WOW! What a game changer this was!!

The two AI products I used were:

1)ChatGPT- What I liked best was this AI platform gave me detailed activities to use for each goal and objective.

2) Perplexity- What I liked best was that this AI platform gave me formal references for the suggested information!

I learned about doing this at the 2025 NASW-NC Ethics Conference and Awards, sponsored by National Association of Social Workers - North Carolina Chapter.

Thank you for such a thoughtful training and group of speakers.

Hillsborough Kiwanis is a Civic Organization which supports children in our communities. In Hillsborough, we support Terrific Kids, Key Clubs, 4-H, FFA, Children's Camps, Clubs, etc., and one in particular with a larger donation. On Februrary 18, 2025 we welcomed Nicole Hunter the Executive Director of VOLUNTEERS FOR YOUTH. We were able to donate because our community businesses and community support our fund raising efforts. THANK You. (Stay tuned for PANCAKES)
