There have been a few issues with the Schindler 3300 product when teams are replacing belts and sheaves. Teams may not have been following the company procedures and in some instances, the teams have not received the procedures. During all replacements, the last belt left on the sheave has shredded, broke, and allowed the car to drop. This is not the first time that employees have been assigned to do repairs without being properly informed of Company procedures. In one Local case, an employee was injured and several members sent home for three days for not following proper procedures after being told that there were not written procedures. One of the people sent home was a "specialist" that was sent in to train the Local 80 members the right way to do the job. Always insist on seeing the procedures that you will be held accountable to Be aware of potential safety hazards when members do not follow the company procedures accurately.

Sad news. TK Service Coordinator Jim Carter died on the job today. I don’t really know what happened except to say that two of our members were there and administered CPR but to no avail. Prayers for his family. Rest In Peace, Jim.
