I’m genuinely telling you: I ran it badly. 😂

I get to make it mean whatever I want, and here’s what I chose. There’s power in doing the thing badly.

Because when you’re brave enough to suck at something, you give yourself room to get better.

💡 I didn’t make it mean anything about my health, fitness, or what I got to eat that day.
It was just a run. A not-so-great one. That’s it.

It did prove that if I want to run a 5k well, maybe I should practice running 5ks every now and then. Shocking, I know. 🙃

Your worth isn’t measured by your run time.

And no—you do not have to “earn” your mashed potatoes with a better workout.

I don’t do punishment. I don’t do perfection. (Also shocking, I know)

We do strength. We do strategy. We do sustainable.

Here’s the deal:

🧠 HIDDEN Stressors Pt 3: BLOOD SUGAR + THYROID

You’ve been eating cleaner, training consistently, maybe even tracking—yet the scale won’t budge.

Here’s what most plans miss: your glucose control and your thyroid.

➡️ Blood sugar isn’t only a “diabetes” issue. Subtle swings can stall fat loss.

When glucose spikes and crashes, you get belly fat, cravings, brain fog, mood dips, and 4PM “hangry.”

Start with A1C (3-month average). I also use CGMs so you can see how meals, stress, and workouts impact your numbers in real time—and fix it fast.

➡️ Your thyroid sets the pace for metabolism, mood, digestion, and energy.

But testing often stops at TSH, which can miss what’s really going on. If you’re fatigued, cold easily, shedding hair, or stuck despite effort—dig deeper: request Free T3, Free T4, Reverse T3, TPO & TgAb to rule out sluggish or autoimmune patterns.

🧠 Hidden Stressors Pt 2: CORTISOL + GUT HEALTH

You’ve been eating better, working out more, maybe even tracking—but the scale isn’t moving.

Here’s what most programs overlook: your stress response and your gut.

➡️ Cortisol, your main stress hormone, is crucial for survival—but when stress becomes chronic (and that threshold looks different for everyone), the system starts to break down.

First, cortisol stays too high—causing belly fat, anxiety, cravings, and poor sleep.

Then, over time, it may drop too low—and that’s when full-on burnout sets in: exhaustion, apathy, flat mood, and feeling “tired but wired.”

➡️ As for the gut—Hippocrates said, “All disease begins in the gut.”

I’d argue that healing must begin there too.

Even if you don’t have digestive symptoms, a disrupted gut can drive systemic inflammation, hormone imbalances, and metabolic resistance. It’s foundational.

Before we go chasing gut, hormone, or thyroid fixes… let’s audit your BLTs (bites, licks, tastes).

That “healthy” salad? An extra drizzle of ranch can be ~100+ calories. Add in a spoon of peanut butter, a handful of trail mix, and a few bites of the kids’ leftover mac & cheese… it stacks up fast.

Keep the flavor, drop the sneaky cals:
• Dressing on the side → start with 1 tbsp and toss well
• Plate your snacks (no “standing bites”)
• Leave kids’ leftovers on their plate
• Track BLTs for 3 days and watch the scale respond
