If keeping muscles, joints, and the rest of the physical vehicle in optimal health is priority, mind not just the frame but the frame of mind as well. The mind and body are one. Thoughts and feelings affect the body--immediately, as well as in the near, middling, &/or distant future. This holds true whether we are aware of these internal states or not....

Need a mini-refresh sesh for head and neck after spending too long looking at a screen and/or book? Look no further, dear friends...our latest video features another upgraded neck mobility exercise that applies intentional muscle activation through a circular idea. These types of low intensity, slower movements are often the beneficial input needed to prevent tension, inflammation, and pain from developing. As an acupuncturist with over 20 years experience treating pain syndromes from head to toe, trust me, it's better to invest a little to prevent than a lot to treat.

“Tech neck” is one of those preventable pain syndromes wherein persistent muscle (and likely mental-emotional) tension contributes to nerve irritation and pain. But it can affect not just those who spend long hours looking at a device screen, but anyone whose work involves the same dynamic of holding the head and neck in one position for extended intervals without any balancing practices.
Be good to yourself and think preventive maintenance...correct imbalance and tension before it turns into pain and dysfunction. Our latest instructional video features a simple movement variability exercise for energizing areas of the neck that can become stagnant from staying in one position for too long--such a common scenario these days with most of us at some type of computer device.
Are you at risk for neck pain, headaches, upper back pain, or numbness/tingling in the hands? If you spend a lot of time on your phone or at a desk looking a...

Are you at increased injury risk because of stiffness in spine, hips, and knees? Our latest video features the fundamentals of Knocking at the Gate of Life, an exercise that can be part of your preventive wellness self-care practice. I myself do some version of this practice most mornings since, as I near 50, the muscles and joints like a little extra TLC at the beginning of the day. Mindfulness of posture is an additional benefit.
This pairs well with the bouncing-shaking qigong practice featured in our last video which you'll find at the Epicenter Wellness YouTube page. Hope you find this helpful.

Our latest YT video features a bouncy-flavored, lower-impact qigong practice that helps support muscle, tendon, ligament, and joint health by activating qi and blood circulation. The low amplitude, extended duration thesis helps prime the pump for more vigorous activity and/or makes for a nice beginning of the day exercise. Or maybe for whatever reason you’re not gonna do your usual sporty spice routine but want a lil somethin to keep the rust off the joints....

Our latest video continues with foundation-level self-massage techniques focusing on the extensor compartment of the forearm. In acupuncture theory this correlates with the Large Intestine, Triple Burner, and Small Intestine channels. Regardless of name, the muscles, tendons, and related structures in these information pathways connect with the outer elbow; persistent tension holding patterns here favor inflammation, pain, and loss of function--one commonly diagnosed condition affecting this area is lateral epicondylitis, or tennis elbow.
