Giddy up and Ye-Haw! Last week we had Wild West neighborhood picnics with residents choosing from grilled steak or marinated chicken. A baked potato, Raman coleslaw, baked beans, rolls and specialty ice cream rounded up the vittles. We sang along to country & western classics & laughed at taking our wild west photos. The weather co-operated 3 out of the 5 days but the indoor fixins were just as fun. A huge Thank You to all staff who helped out, the teamwork was awesome and YOU ROCK!

Today 8/26 is National Toilet Paper Day! This morning we had some interesting and cringe worthy Toilet Paper Trivia and a TP game with some extra soft prizes! What a hoot!

We have been keeping cool by celebrating the "Dog Days of Summer"! We started on Aug. 1st with National Water Balloon Day by drenching staff and a few grandchildren with 500 water balloons. As you can see the residents didn't hold back! An officer and one of the K9's from the Hillsdale County Sherriff's office came for an afternoon and the residents loved meeting and learning about them! We had an antique tractor show on the front lawn (because tractors are cool). We added in some summertime crafts and a "Cool Dog" themed Birthday party and Ice Cream on the patio to round out the fun!

Through July we enjoyed our annual neighborhood Baw Beese lake picnics with beautiful sunshine, good food, music, games, watermelon, laughter and company! We were rained out for a couple of trips but camped out in the Garden Room instead and still had a great time. In August we will be visiting Lowry's Little Flock Farm so stay tuned for photos!
