Screens are a part of everyday life, and many parents are doing the best they can while juggling a million things at once. 🤍 But as pediatric SLPs, we also see how hard it can be for some children to transition away from screens and engage in play and interaction.
Communication skills grow most through human connection: talking together, playing together, reading books, singing songs, and sharing everyday moments. These small interactions help children learn language, social skills, emotional regulation, and connection.
This isn’t about eliminating screens completely. It’s about making space for meaningful parent-child interaction throughout the day, because those moments truly matter for development. ✨
If you’re unsure where to start or want simple, practical ideas for how to engage your child in ways that build language, we are a message away! 💛
