Hospice of Hilo is non-profit organization dedicated to providing compassionate, quality care to serious and terminally-ill patients through support, counseling and education to our East Hawai‘i Community. Hospice of Hilo brings together the support services of physicians, nurses, social workers, spiritual and grief counselors and trained volunteers to provide care focused on the whole person: body, mind and spirit. Hospice of Hilo provides care for patients in East Hawai‘i spanning Laupāhoehoe to South Point, Ka‘ū. Nothing spooky about how lucky we are to work with these hammahs! 🛠️💪

Best way to celebrate this Halloween Friday — with the crew that keeps it all going!

In case you didn’t know 😎

10/23/2025

Everyday, more of you are reaching out and saying yes to the support and resources here for you — and we couldn’t be prouder. 💛

We know it can feel scary to take that first step, but sometimes all it takes is a short walk… or a quick call that could give you more time with the ones you love most.

Don’t wait until it’s too late — reach out today. 🌿

Happy Tuesday, Hawaiʻi Island!🤩

We’re starting off the week filled with gratitude and aloha for everyone who has taken that brave first step to reach out for kōkua and resources. 💛

Whether you’re calling for support, guidance, or just to ask questions — we see you. It takes courage to open up and seek help, and we’re so honored to walk this journey with you and your ʻohana.

Each connection reminds us why we do this work — to bring comfort, clarity, and compassion when it’s needed most. 💫

Let’s make it a good week, together.

Aloha Friday in our office is always an event 🌺✨ — not just because it’s Fri-yay, but because we get to spend it with the most amazing team. Every laugh shared, every moment of support, and every act of kindness reminds us how lucky we are to do this work together.

From the early mornings to the community events, this crew shows up with heart, dedication, and vibes every single day. They make even the busiest weeks feel lighter and full of joy.

Mahalo, mahalo, mahalo to our incredible staff for all that you do 💛 You truly are the heartbeat of what we do.

10/14/2025

We totally get it — calling us can feel like a big step. There’s so much wrapped up in that moment: love, worry, and all kinds of emotions. 💭

But almost every ʻohana we’ve worked with tells us the same thing…
“We wish we called sooner.” 🥹

We’re here to kōkua and lighten the load. Ready when you are. 💛

10/09/2025

We know how hard it can feel to reach out — especially in our hardest times. So we wanted to clear something up:

Calling us doesn’t mean your loved one is already gone. It means you’re choosing to spend more precious time as their ʻohana, not just their caregiver.

We’re here to help carry the weight of illness, so you can focus on love, connection, and every memory still to be made.

Mahalo for trusting us with this kuleana 🫶🏽

10/07/2025

Just Aunty Lani rolling in to remind you — you are never alone on this journey 🥹💜

Have you ever felt lost or overwhelmed caring for your sick ʻohana? Like no one really understands what you’re going through? Or maybe you need help but don’t even know where to start?

We see you. We got you. 🫶🏽

Reach out — DM us, email, call, or even send a letter. However you connect, we’ll meet you there.

We can’t wait to share all the resources and support waiting for you 💌✨
