“Being an Asian American is an experience that holds two different cultures. It means growing up with the values and traditions of your family's Asian heritage while also embracing the customs of American society. For many Asian Americans, it can feel like living in two worlds.
To me, Asian Americans are a beautiful and a diverse community that includes many people of different walks of life. Despite the differences in language, food, and customs, there is a shared bond among Asian Americans that comes from our shared experiences of immigration, discrimination, and resilience.
The sacrifices and hard work of our ancestors are a deeply personal and cherished part of my identity. I hold my grandmother's sacrifices close to my heart, knowing how hard she worked in the pineapple fields on Kauai to earn enough money to bring her children to the United States from the Philippines. Her story is a testament to the resilience and determination of many Asian immigrants who have overcome significant obstacles to build a better life for themselves and their families in America.”

BAYADA’s Adult Nursing Office in Gastonia, NC recently celebrated their nurses at their Years of Service Banquet. In home care, teams don’t often get the chance to get together due to different work schedules. It was an excellent opportunity to be together and recognize their unwavering commitment to BAYADA, their clients, and their community. Thank you for all that you do!
“Asian Pacific American Heritage (APAH) Month for me has always been a time of reflection and increased understanding of my Filipino heritage. Growing up in the Philippines until the age of 12 years old, it was a challenge for me to adapt to a new culture when we moved. It wasn’t until I was older that I realized that I needed to further understand and embrace my heritage as part of my identity.
I admire BAYADA’s DEI initiatives, and it is one of the reasons why I enjoy working for this organization. I’m glad to be able to share my story because APAH Month is close to my heart and my home. Not only is APAH month a time I celebrate Filipino heritage with my children and help them learn and embrace this culture, but it’s also an opportunity for me to educate others on the history and the many contributions the AAPI community has made.” – Herriet Morla, BAYADA Client Service Manager
Our BAYADA community loves a reason to celebrate! Check out this of Founder and Chairman Mark Baiada—always the captain of the party!

Happy Nurses to all the nurses!!!!
My mother was a nurse and I always enjoyed taking care of others. I also wanted a career that would give me job security and be rewarding. I joined home care because of my son who receives excellent home care services. I wanted to give that same care to other families. I knew I could be a great asset to families because I live the life of caring for a special needs child and would have the empathy, knowledge and support to give.”
Thank you to our BAYADA nurse Kim for your continued passion for nursing and your clients over the years! We are thankful to have you as part of the BAYADA team.
“Home care felt right for me because I can give that one-on-one attention, I feel clients deserve. I love nursing and spending time with my clients - feeling like I make a difference in someone’s life, even if it’s only a little one.”
Thank you to our BAYADA nurse Callie for making a difference every day!
“Shortly after becoming a certified nursing assistant, I knew nursing was my calling. I enjoy helping others, and I’ve always been passionate about learning more and advancing in the nursing field. I love making a difference in my client’s and their family’s lives - putting smiles on their faces, and easing worries.”

“I became a nurse to help others who are not able to help themselves. I joined home care because it allows for a more consistent personal relationship between the nurse and patients – and I love the job flexibility as a new mom. I love the aspect of being able to help my clients get through a really difficult time in their life or helping them transition into a new life and making it as easy as I possibly can.”
Thank you to our BAYADA nurse Mercedes for sharing your care and compassion with your clients!
“My mom has been a nurse for as long as I can remember, and she worked for BAYADA for 15 years until she moved out of state. I had always thought that it would be a good fit for me, but never took the plunge. I had worked in retail for 12 years until my friend approached me about taking care of her daughter. Of course, I jumped at the opportunity. I love the satisfaction of helping others, and I love that I am someone's voice when they don't have one. BAYADA is so good at including everybody. They have so many extracurricular activities that include not only their employees, but clients as well. And I love that.”
Thank you to our BAYADA certified nursing assistant Casey for sharing your story!
Didn't had a chance to take a picture of the clinicians that came in for backwards day/inside out day.. But thank you for dressing up in honor of nurses week!
“My son was born prematurely and was in the NICU after I was diagnosed with HELLP syndrome. I became a nurse because of him. Being able to care for and be an advocate for those who need it most is what I love most about nursing. And at BAYADA, everyone truly loves what they do, and we are a team because we are in it for our clients, families, and each other.”
Thank you to our BAYADA nurse Jillian for your many years of service and continued compassion for your clients!

“Knowing that you're helping someone who really needs help is what I love about nursing. I've always enjoyed home care, and the 1:1 is so important. You get to know the family, and you feel a part of the family. You are truly a team member of their full care team. I retired in 2022, but I knew that one of my clients still needed shifts filled, so I decided to continue helping. Please consider nursing as a career – we need more!”
Thank you to our BAYADA nurse Susan for your continued dedication to the field and our clients!
