Did You Know??

In February 2024, Liberty Regional Medical Center launched the Mom’s Heart Matters (MHM) initiative, targeting postpartum health for mothers in Hinesville, Georgia. This program aims to reduce hypertension-related health issues among mothers of color through a web-based platform for monitoring blood pressure. Recognizing high rates of postpartum heart conditions in the community, the initiative focuses on improving health statistics for high-risk mothers.

📣 Meet Our Providers 📣

Dr. William Oduro is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist with over 30 years of experience. He earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School in 1991 and completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at New York University Medical Center/Bellevue Hospital. Dr. Oduro served as an OB/GYN consultant in the United States Air Force, achieving the rank of Major before transitioning to private practice. He has been recognized as Gwinnett County’s Best Doctor in 2008 and received the Exceptional Teacher Award from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2021. Dr. Oduro is passionate about women’s health and medical education.

Coastal Manor Nursing Home residents had a wonderful week filled with fun and celebration. They enjoyed a performance by Wayne County Productions, celebrated Columbus Day with the Ludowici Masonic Family and live music from Hosley Hall & Band and marked Hispanic Heritage Month with the Bradwell Beta Club, who hosted Spanish dancing and coloring activities. It was a joyful week of music, culture, and community.

🩷Did You Know? 🩷

According to the American Cancer Society, when breast cancer is detected early, and is in the localized stage, the 5-year relative survival rate is 99%. Early detection includes doing monthly breast self-exams and scheduling regular clinical breast exams and mammograms.

The most powerful way to fight disease is by focusing on prevention, which is mainly achieved through early detection. At our Imaging Services center within Liberty Regional Medical Center, we adopt strategies that empower patients to tackle cancer before it can advance significantly. Currently, we employ **3D mammography**, an innovative X-ray imaging technique that offers physicians a clearer view of the breast compared to traditional film-based methods. This improved clarity allows for the detection of more abnormalities, leading to timely intervention and treatment.

At Liberty Regional Medical Center, all mammography facilities are outfitted with the latest digital mammography technology. This approach is especially advantageous for women with dense breast tissue; a condition more frequently found in younger patients. By providing access to state-of-the-art advancements in mammography, we are dedicated to ensuring that every patient receives the highest level of care, granting them peace of mind and the best possible opportunity for recovery.

💙Building Beds, Building Community 💙

The Liberty Regional Medical Center Directors and Team proudly joined forces with the Hinesville Rotary Club and Hinesville Fire Department to support Sleep in Heavenly Peace, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring every child has a bed to sleep in.

Together, the team rolled up their sleeves, worked side by side, and built 10 brand-new beds for local children in need.

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to compassion, service, and community—because every child deserves a safe and comfortable place to rest.

Thank you Hinesville Rotary Club, Hinesville Fire Department, Rotary District 6920 Governor Terry Adkins and all our wonderful Liberty Regional Team Members.
