Welcome to the Dream Team Olivia!!

Olivia Birkholz, M.S., CF-SLP, is a Speech-Language Pathologist whose journey into the field began with her own lived experience as a person who stutters. Growing up with communication challenges shaped her understanding of what it means to be heard, respected, validated, and supported, and it continues to guide her work as a clinician who values authenticity, empathy, and individualized care.

She has experience across public schools, outpatient pediatric and adult clinics, and the acute care setting. Her work includes early intervention and school-age children with articulation disorders, speech sound disorders, language delays, autism, fluency challenges, childhood apraxia of speech, and diverse communication profiles. She primarily works with autistic children and children with ADHD, using evidence-based, neuroaffirming approaches that respect each child’s unique communication style.

Olivia has also provided services to adults who have been impacted by voice disorders, cognitive-communication challenges, motor speech disorders, aphasia, strokes, and traumatic brain injuries. She has experience with both mid-tech and high-tech AAC to support meaningful communication and connection across the lifespan.

Her practice is grounded in neuroaffirming, child-led therapy that prioritizes regulation, engagement, autonomy, and connection, creating supportive environments where authentic communication and connection can thrive.

The staff at Donovan Rehab participated in our Christmas Movie Inspired Dress Up Days and we had a BLAST!

We will be closed for the remainder of this week (12/24-12/26) for the Christmas holiday. We will also be closed next Thursday ((1/1) on New Year’s Day.
