Meet Dr. Amita Goyal, who is the medical director of our AASM-accredited sleep lab. Dr. Goyal is board-certified in both sleep and internal medicine! She completed her sleep fellowship at Stanford School of Medicine, which is viewed internationally as the world's leading training program for sleep disorders medicine.

Dr. Goyal completed her medical training at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She spent years as a primary care doctor before specializing in sleep medicine and found that sleep impacted every facet of a person's health.

Meet Colleen Burns, DNP, a certified nurse practitioner at Girgis ENT who focuses on treating ear, nose and throat conditions as well as sleep disorders!

Colleen attended Saint Ambrose University where she received her undergraduate degree in nursing. She worked as a registered nurse in a medical intensive care unit caring for patients with complex medical conditions prior to receiving her doctorate in nursing from Rush University in 2016.

She then worked for Rush University as a nurse practitioner in pulmonary and sleep services for eight years, where she learned the connection between sleep disordered breathing and ear, nose and throat health. She focuses on tailoring individual treatment plans for each patient to help them breathe better, hear better and sleep better with life-changing results!

Meet Dr. Nicole Balassone, an Illinois-licensed Doctor of Audiology at Girgis ENT!

Dr. Balassone obtained her doctoral degree from Northwestern University. She has received clinical training in hospitals, ENT offices and audiology research facilities in NJ and the Chicagoland area. Her professional interests include hearing evaluations, pediatric audiology, tinnitus management and hearing protection and conservation.

She integrates clinical best practices, scientific evidence and patient experiences and perspectives to provide high-quality, patient-centered care. She finds joy in improving the quality of life in individuals with hearing loss and improving their communication abilities with their loved ones.

Dr. Glotzbach personally knows the effects that hearing disorders and communication barriers can have on the lives of individuals and their loved ones. She aims to provide high-quality care to address the individual needs of her patients and help improve their overall quality of life.
