🧡 Today is Su***de Prevention Day 🧡

At Equimotional, we believe that everyone’s emotional journey is unique and valid. We are committed to fostering a space where feelings are honored, not judged.

Horses offer us a reflection of our inner world, showing us that it’s okay to feel vulnerable. They remind us that even in our hardest moments, we can find strength in connection and support.

If you or someone you know is struggling, it’s not about being “broken” or needing to be “fixed.” It's about finding understanding, compassion, and the support you deserve. 💛

You are valued. You are worthy of support. You are not alone.

Tired of Training Programmes That Miss the Mark? Experience Equimotional—Where Real Connection Meets True Transformation

If you’re seeking just another “holistic” program, you’re in the wrong place. But if you’re ready to revolutionize how we approach mental health and wellbeing, then welcome to Equimotional—where we don’t just follow the path, we blaze new trails. Here’s why training with us is not just better, but transformative:

🐴 Beyond Therapy: A Whole-Person Approach: We’re not here to diagnose, treat, or fix anyone. Equimotional is about embracing the full spectrum of human emotions and experiences. We understand that every feeling, every emotion is valid and deserves to be acknowledged. Our equine wellbeing coaching (EWC) doesn’t pathologise; it empowers.

🌱 Real, Raw, Human: In a world that often tries to suppress or control emotions, we stand firm in the belief that feeling is healing. Our training is grounded in the simple, yet profound, understanding that people are human, and all human emotions deserve to be felt, expressed, and honoured. The horses aren’t just tools; they’re co-facilitators in helping people reconnect with their true selves.

🌍 A New Kind of Support System: When you train with Equimotional, you’re joining a community that celebrates what it means to be human—flaws and all. We’re creating a movement that’s about more than just professional success; it’s about reshaping how we think about mental and emotional wellbeing. Our global network is united by a shared commitment to a non-judgmental, non-pathologising approach that puts people first.

💡 Humanity at the Core: We don’t need science to tell us what we already know in our hearts—that people are complex, emotional beings. Our approach isn’t about evidence-based protocols; it’s about understanding the deep, unspoken connections that form between humans and their external experiences. These connections can unlock emotional truths that no textbook ever could.

🌍 A Movement, Not Just a Method: When you train with Equimotional, you’re not just getting certified—you’re joining a movement that’s rewriting the narrative on mental health. We’re building a global network of changemakers who are passionate about non-pathologising, inclusive care. This isn’t just about your professional growth; it’s about being part of something bigger than yourself.

💡 Innovative, Non-Pathologising Approach: We reject the labels that limit people’s potential. Our training is non-pathologising, meaning we see beyond diagnoses to the individual’s strengths and capacities. This approach not only transforms the lives of your clients but also revolutionises your practice, setting you apart in a crowded field.

🔥 Authenticity in Action: Our graduates are living proof that real, authentic connections can change lives. They’re out there helping people—from young individuals navigating the turbulence of adolescence to adults seeking to rediscover their inner strength—by simply being present, understanding, and accepting. This isn’t therapy; it’s something far more real and raw.

So, if you’re ready to move beyond traditional models and embrace a truly human approach to equine wellbeing coaching, then it’s time to train with Equimotional. We’re not just offering a course; we’re offering a chance to be part of a movement that honours the full spectrum of human emotion.

Our bodies have a remarkable ability to store emotions, trauma, and experiences, even when our conscious mind may not readily recall them. When working with clients, I often discuss the concept of somatic memory, where emotions and experiences are physically held within the body, often appearing as tension, pain, or other sensations.

Additionally, traumatic events can trigger a trauma response, causing lingering physical reactions that impact our emotions and behaviours. Integrating physical awareness into the process of emotional healing is crucial, and this is where the presence of a horse can be incredibly valuable in guiding us along this transformative path.

By engaging with horses, individuals can learn to tune into their bodies and recognize the physical manifestations of their emotions and experiences. Horses, with their innate ability to sense and respond to subtle cues, can help us become more attuned to our somatic responses and guide us towards releasing stored tension and trauma. Through this process, we can begin to heal not only emotionally but also physically, creating a more integrated and balanced sense of well-being.

When a mom tells you she is struggling...

Really listen to me, see me, and don’t dismiss me.

Moms are experts at doing hard things, if we say we are struggling- we mean it.

Motherhood is HARD.

When I say I am struggling it doesn’t mean that I don’t love my kids or that I don’t know how lucky I am. It means that I am struggling with: raising little AND big kids, finding my identity after being a stay at home mom for 20 years, and navigating a midlife body and hormones.

When I say I am struggling I want my partner to really see me and listen to me. Acknowledge that this is hard and my feelings are valid. Take a few things off my plate: make/order dinner one night, be in charge of bedtime drama or let me sleep in on a weekend morning. Don’t dismiss my feelings, tell me things could be worse or make me feel bad for expressing my feelings.

For me to say I am struggling means I am at a breaking point. We need to normalize saying “motherhood is hard; I am struggling” without feeling guilty.

I am a good mother and I am struggling.

If you are struggling too, I see you; you are not alone.

XO Jane

Postpartum psychosis occurs in approximately 1 to 2 out of every 1,000 deliveries. The onset is usually sudden, most often within the first 2 weeks postpartum. The most significant risk factors for postpartum psychosis are a personal or family history of bipolar disorder, or a previous psychotic episode. Postpartum Psychosis is considered a medical emergency due to the potential for a mom to harm herself or her baby.

Anxiety is treatable during pregnancy and postpartum. Symptoms often include restlessness, racing heartbeat, inability to sleep, extreme worry about the “what ifs” - like what if my baby experiences SIDS, what if my baby falls, what if my baby has autism, etc.; extreme worry about not being a good parent/being able to provide for her family.

Women who experience the baby blues may feel sad, have mood swings and crying episodes. The Blues are not considered a disorder as the symptoms often resolve within a few days. If symptoms persist, beyond two weeks, it’s likely the mother is suffering from depression.
