🐹 Cleveland Area Update 🐹

We currently have limited availability for surrenders in the Cleveland area, as our foster homes are close to full.

That said, we are always happy to help with adoptions and encourage anyone looking to adopt to reach out! Creating space through adoption allows us to continue helping more guinea pigs in need. 💚

We are a foster-based rescue opening our homes and hearts to guinea pigs in need. Saying “no” to an adoption is not personal — it is us doing our job and advocating for animals who cannot speak for themselves.

Today, we were asked to make an exception to our care requirements and were met with disrespect when we didn’t. Comments like:
• “Why does the size of the cage matter if they get along?”
• “Why won’t you just let us try it and see how it goes?”
• “They don’t like hay, they just waste it.”

Our standards are not negotiable. We will not place guinea pigs into homes without proper space, proper diet, or basic understanding of their needs. We also will not tolerate rude or dismissive behavior toward our rescue or our fosters.

Conversations that cross that line will be ended, and continued behavior will result in being blocked.

Our responsibility is — and always will be — to the guinea pigs first. 🐹💚

*** pictured is a cage that one of our adopters has, it’s definitely way above our size requirements, but it’s beautiful****

ADOPTED
🌅 Meet Eve & Dawn 🌅

Eve is a young mama who came to us after a very hard start to life, but she has remained healthy and strong. On January 13, she welcomed one beautiful baby, and we named her Dawn — a perfect name for a fresh beginning. 💕

Eve is estimated to be under five months old, and Dawn is thriving. Because of Eve’s early experiences, she is a bit shy and will need patience and daily, gentle handling in her forever home. We’re working with her now, but slow, consistent interactions will help her continue to build trust.

Once Dawn reaches two weeks of age, this bonded mother–daughter pair will be ready to leave together. They will not be separated.

A tiny family, a fresh start, and so much potential. 🐹💛

✨ Look at all these new, fun faces! ✨

Life happens — kids, sports schedules, school, and all the chaos that comes with it — and we’ll be the first to admit we fell a little behind on updates. But we’re officially caught up, updated, and rocking and rolling again! 🙌🐹

We want to provide a quick note:

Due to the individual involved being a minor, we have removed names and photos that were shared with us.
That decision was made to protect everyone involved, especially the animals and the young person at the center of the situation.

That said, it is important to continue educating and informing our community. We have received multiple emails and messages asking for help related to a person in the Mount Vernon area who is presenting themselves as a guinea pig sanctuary. The concerns being raised involve overbreeding and improper care practices.

At this time, making the community aware is the most appropriate step we can take. We are not here to harass or target anyone, but we are here to advocate for animal welfare and to help prevent situations that can lead to suffering or large-scale rescue intervention.

We want to remind everyone that if you are ever unsure about who you are rehoming guinea pigs to, or where you are getting guinea pigs from, you are always welcome to reach out to us or our admin team with questions. We are happy to help you think through a situation before animals are placed at risk.

And finally — if something feels off or concerning, it’s okay to pause. If a situation seems unusual or unsafe, it probably is.

Our priority will always be education, prevention, and the well-being of the animals.

Happy New Year Everyone!!! I have been enjoying a “mostly break” from the rescue. I have a few guinea pigs here, 1 chinchilla and a pair of ferrets left for rehoming along with c and c cages, other cages and tonnnnnssss of supplies. Text me if you want to come shop sometime!!!
This time has given me the opportunity to work on my house, yard and self and spend more quality time with my family. I still have the goats and three ponies and someone is giving us their two horses:) i started taking riding lessons once a week and moved it up to 3x a week to get my muscles back in shape. We took the kiddos to Castaway Bay for my birthday in December and had a blast. Gary is well though we had a health scare a few weeks backs where he coughed until he passed out and I called 911. He had bad bronchitis and they gave him an inhaler. He is doing better now!

We plan to sell our home this year and move to Trumbull County and buy a larger farm. I plan to keep rescueing ferrets, chinchillas, sugar gliders, hamsters, hedgehogs etc while Molly does the guinea pigs. Someday i will finish the FB Page I started for it. If you wish to volunteer in Hiram I could use some help with the donations that still come in here. Mostly sorting, organizing, putting away, cage cleaning etc.

While cleaning i finally found the totes with the log houses so if i still owe you a log house PM me. M. Leigh your two i will be shipping this week! Sorry for the delay!!!
