Support Our AVID Seniors Monday, March 2nd – Texas Roadhouse Dining Fundraiser!
Our AVID Seniors are preparing for an unforgettable College, Career, and Leadership Exploration Trip to California, and we would love your support!
This spring, students will participate in the Disneyland Youth Leadership Program, where they will engage in hands-on workshops focused on leadership, communication, and teamwork. They will also visit University of California, Los Angeles, tour an aeronautics and technology-focused college, and explore innovation and STEM pathways at the California Science Center.
This experience directly aligns with AVID’s mission of closing the opportunity gap by preparing students for college readiness, career exploration, and leadership development through real-world exposure and meaningful academic connections.
You can help make this opportunity possible by joining us for our Dining Fundraiser at Texas Roadhouse on Monday, March 2nd from 3:00–10:00 PM.
Simply purchase a meal during that time and present a paper or electronic copy of the attached flyer, and a portion of the proceeds will go directly toward supporting our AVID seniors.
Your support helps our students see what’s possible — and believe they belong there.
Thank you for investing in our AVID seniors and their futures! 💙

Trauma-Informed Care at GCLC

Guidance Center of Lea County, Inc. is committed to the Sanctuary Model of Trauma Informed Care for its staff and clientele. We believe that increasing awareness, emphasizing safety, and teaching skills to our employees that they can utilize to manage their feelings, are crucial steps in creating an environment conducive of processing change, feelings, past trauma, grief and loss.

The Sanctuary© Model was developed by Dr. Sandra Bloom. A well-defined model for organizations like the Guidance Center of Lea County, Sanctuary© integrates trauma theory with therapeutic community principles and the practice of nonviolence.

The Guidance Center has become a certified Sanctuary© provider. The model is being integrated into all of our programs.
