🌟 **Important Update from Guidance Center of Lea County** 🌟

Yesterday, we experienced a security threat at our facility. Thankfully, no one was harmed, and all staff and clients safely evacuated the property.

We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Hobbs Police Department, City of Hobbs Fire Department and all emergency services for their swift response and dedication to ensuring our safety. 🙏

A special thank you goes out to our incredible staff and clients for their care and patience for one another during this stressful time while the police cleared the campus. We also appreciate the homeowners who graciously allowed our staff and clients to gather on their property as we waited for our building to be secured by police and K9 units.

At GCLC, the safety of our clients and staff is our top priority. Our doors remain open, and we are committed to responding to emergencies with the utmost care and diligence.

Thank you for your continued support! 💙

Trauma-Informed Care at GCLC

Guidance Center of Lea County, Inc. is committed to the Sanctuary Model of Trauma Informed Care for its staff and clientele. We believe that increasing awareness, emphasizing safety, and teaching skills to our employees that they can utilize to manage their feelings, are crucial steps in creating an environment conducive of processing change, feelings, past trauma, grief and loss.

The Sanctuary© Model was developed by Dr. Sandra Bloom. A well-defined model for organizations like the Guidance Center of Lea County, Sanctuary© integrates trauma theory with therapeutic community principles and the practice of nonviolence.

The Guidance Center has become a certified Sanctuary© provider. The model is being integrated into all of our programs.
