The impact of dyslexia is unique to each individual and is influenced by the severity of the condition and the quality of instruction or remediation. The core difficulty is with word recognition, reading fluency, spelling, and writing. Some individuals with dyslexia may perform well in early reading and spelling tasks, especially with proper instruction. However, it's important to understand that they may later struggle with more complex language skills such as grammar, understanding textbook material, and writing essays. This understanding can help educators and parents provide the necessary support and resources.

A Certified Academic Language Therapist or Practitioner has the skills to help.

In addition to this statement, I’ve heard from a few adults that these decodable books are babyish. They aren’t babyish to the students that need this practice. They are intended as a bridge for application and opportunities to practice what students are learning.
