Blockages exist.
Congestion happens.

Everything we consume - mentally, energetically, orally, topically - gets integrated, processed, eliminated.
Often there is interference.

Do not under any circumstances pick your skin.
"...marking territory like 'here lies trauma'."

There's definitely a psychosomatic aspect to it.

People see themselves in such a harsh light.

Your skin isn't concerned with looking perfect.

It's too busy doing other things to balance itself from all your interventions and communicate it's needs.

Let someone who is learning it's language do the translations.

Age old wisdom:

"Do Not Pick it, you'll make it worse."

There are many degrees and forms of "things to pick". Unless you're a trained skincare professional, you'll likely not (fully) understand what is needed in the event of some condition erupting. Sometimes proper extraction is possible, others need downtime, and lots in between.

When you squeeze to the point of blood, the follicle wall ruptures; if there was pus, that means bacteria, which can now spread via broken follicle wall, hello sister brother zit.

Picking scrapes off the surface of the skin, leaving raw skin exposed, sole defense being melanin, causing lingering spotty pigmentations of varying shades (depending on your skin tone) marking territory like "here lies trauma".

Remind yourself it's not worth it. Pop in for a half session tailored treatment instead. 💛

Protective coating of a tree,
Layered skin just like me.
Water moves all underneath,
Bark protects - it's a keratinized sheath.
Fluid patterns thru and thru,
Yes, it's also just like you.
So if you feel like peeling it off,
Remember it's job is to stay there, tough.
Beneath it's surface, important patterns.
Divinely designed to provide what matters.
Xylem and phloem are the veins and arteries,
Water and glucose building every part of me.
Biological process - the blueprint is ancient,
All that it asks is for you to be patient.
Let it be, it knows what to do,
It's highly intelligent, just like you.
Trust your body like you trust the trees
To take what it's given and provide what it needs.

You've probably heard me mention how astringents are always 🎭😷🎭 masquerading around as "toners". Most of their formulations contain alcohol and other "ingredients" that don't do your skin any favors unless you're trying to strip it.

The only "moisturizing" ingredients you should be putting on your skin in the name of "hydration" should be (botanical/floral/charged/pure) WATERS 💦

4 years ago today was my first day in my little loft.

Now, where that robe was hanging, we have a door that connects another 1000sqft. I remember knowing I was going to connect the spaces even before it was available. I hadn't even seen inside, but I knew it was going to happen.

Thank you everyone for continuing to support my adventures in holistic skincare! I literally wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you all.

Looking forward to doing all the other things I have planned that will come over the next several years!

My face is made of muscles.
My life effects my facial expressions.
My facial expressions can hold tension.
Tension creates blockages.
Blockages create lack of flow.
Lack of flow means lack of circulation.
Lack of blood = less nutrients & Oxygen to my skin.
That creates waste buildup --
Knots in muscles, adhesions in fascia.

So grateful for this Association, it's collective members, and the resources provided by them! May every person with skin come to understand the importance, relevance, and divine design of their own stratum corneum. This practice has changed my life, and my work. 💫
