Thanking my beautiful lucky stars,🙏🏻 God and all the angels, and all the work I’ve done to understand and work well with my intuition and the host of healing tools I use on a daily basis. For without them we may have had a very different outcome… 🙀

We have a ton of ceiling detectors – smoke, CO2, and gas. The detectors get new batteries annually on a schedule, we don’t even have to ask. All of the equipment in our home is 10 years old or less. We live in a beautiful luxury community where everything is addressed the moment we ask, and even before we notice. Even with all that...we’ve been living with a slow natural gas leak into our homes. And into our bodies. ☠

For nearly a year, from time to time, I’ve been saying I smell something as we walk into the house. It’s been a quick instant and then it’s gone so that I can’t catch it again. It didn't happen two times or two days in a row. Of course maybe it was Howard’s sniffer isn’t as sensitive, right? That’s a pretty common female-male thing. I’d ask and he’d say nope and I’d try again, but it was gone. Every so often he’d say “I thought I smelled something but now I’m not so sure.” A few days ago, though it was faint, I just knew I smelled something. But Howard didn’t smell it and then it was gone. I couldn’t pick it up again. How do you call in a repair request when there are no signs of an issue? It’s like bringing a sick child to the doctor and the moment they get there they’re fine. And if you don’t think the jokes were going back and forth about this she does, he doesn’t, smell thing…🙄😹🤣

But that evening, driving out of the community I saw fire trucks blazing over to the condos next door and I KNEW. The trucks weren't for us, I wasn't feeling fear. It's just that when your intuition is telling you something it will grab your attention any way it can. The trucks looked SUPER, technicolor red and overly shiney, they were all I could see!!! And though I'd had the music turned up, windows open roof open too, the sirens were all I could hear!!! In that moment I KNEW if I didn’t address this situation quickly those trucks would be coming for us, and worse.

The next morning even though I couldn’t smell a thing, I called the office to tell them I smell nothing right now but…but they weren’t in and I began to worry. I realized that I’d never feel safe without actual proof. So I went to Home Depot and got a gas leak detector. Thank GOD!

When I drove back into our community I saw the maintenance team and told them what was happening. They ran right over! At first the maintenance guy said there was nothing because his professional unit didn’t go off, but I asked him to come to the stove and check. Mine blasted, his stayed silent. His batteries were dead! So he tested all around the stove and found nothing. To the garage we went to check on the water heater and the other equipment tucked in our Utility Closet.

Upon opening the doors he yells “Get outta here! Open the windows and doors!” A full on gas leak! Instantly I was enveloped in gas, the strong and clear unpleasant scent added to natural gas to warn of the danger! The team went into immediate action – gas was turned off, windows and doors opened and the plumber redid all the gas lines, connections and caps. Within a few minutes the house felt lighter and safer.

It would take another whole hour for the house to clear of gas, according to my gas leak detector!

And as there’s a vent from that room directly into my studio…and then free open space throughout the house…we have been exposed to lower levels of gas for months!!!! Between the summer months when the house is closed up with air conditioning, and a recent few super cold nights when we turned on the heat briefly, we have been breathing in that toxic gas in levels low enough that all the detectors did not siren the alarm! But our bodies had been trying to warn us, my intuition too.

The past few months have been challenging - nothing's "wrong" just life events, my mother-in-law’s back fracture and a few other things, so feeling fatigued didn’t surprise me. It's normal, right? Getting “allergy headaches” wasn’t a new experience either as I've had to endure allergy issues all my life. My annual physical and blood tests showed that I'm completely health, but of course they weren't checking for poisoning. My sleep quality declining was new but nothing to be truly alarmed about, right? WRONG!!!

I went to my acupuncturist that afternoon and she had a gas leak once, so she was able to confirm all my symptoms – and probably the issues with sleeping, are all from the gas. She agreed as I said I thought my system wouldn’t let me sleep because we have been in danger! We spoke about the healing effects of sleeping on my BioMAT and using my other tools which most likely mitigated and lessened the dangerous effects of the gas while this was an ongoing situation.

The day after the gas line repairs – I awoke with “no allergy migraine”, no fogginess, my memory is as sharp as always and my sleep was much better. I feel like myself again. As my husband works out of the house a few days a week he wasn’t feeling the symptoms as much as me, but they were there. He confirms he notices how much better he feels now too! Dear Lord! We’re so grateful that our BioMATS and Healys along with a few oils and regular acupuncture, plus drinking tons of water will help us clear out all remaining toxins.

In case you or someone you love has gas in the home, this is the item that saved us. It’s super easy to calibrate and confirm it’s working right away and super easy to use. So no matter how many detectors you have, unless you have one smack up against the area with the lines – which isn’t standard – I suggest that everyone with natural gas needs one of these helpful tools. From the moment I cracked open my first copy of this book over twenty years ago my life changed for the better in ways I'd never have been able to fathom. A lifelong allergy and asthma sufferer, I haven't the stomach to calculate how much money first my sweet parents and then I spent on everything from prevention to the seemingly endless supply of lozenges and other not-so-helpful and very costly items that never did the job. Not only did I always, always use up all my sick days, I often had to use all my vacation and any personal days because I was too ill to get up let alone go to work.

While there are an astounding array of recipes and insights in this book, one simple recipe changed my life forever: the nasal irrigation salt and oil recipe. The first time I created and then used this recipe my mother was visiting me in my first apartment in Hoboken and I was feeling miserable, again. But this time instead of being grateful my Mommy was there to take care of me (and she always did such a wonderful job!) I just wanted this horrible cycle to be over. So I mixed up the few oils and salts, then mixed up the water and salts and set about using my first netti pot. It was challenging and scary the first time. It felt weird. And honestly with what came out of me I thought I'd broken something! But a few more swishes and what came out was clear. (Here's a tip if you're afraid to use a netti pot: get a child's medicine syringe, you'll have much more control and a smaller stream of fluid...it's also helpful for travel!)

And that was the last time I was ill for endless months, missing work for weeks at a time and feeling so helpless. That was the very last time I just accepted whatever physical issue I was facing.

From that moment forward whenever I've begun to feel even the slightest twinge of anything I crack open this book and research what I might do to help myself. My results?

*Other than an unfortunate tooth that cracked eleven years ago under the stress of losing my brother, I've not had an antibiotic in over 20 years. What do I do? I don't let things get so bad that my only recourse is medicine. I begin working on my wellness straight away with oils, energy work, rest and hydration.

*Do I ever get unwell? Of course I do, I'm human. But anything I have to deal with resolves within a few days. What do I do? Both diffusing oils and taking appropriate oils internally help me boost my own system's resources to fend off the yuckies.

*Do I ever have lingering issues from a recent bout of something? Sure. A few months ago I had a craggy voice and a need to clear my throat for about two weeks - but I speak all day for a living. What did I do? Throughout the days I drank water and tea infused with my beloved oils, then as soon as work was over I stopped speaking (yes, I actually can be silent!) and I diffused and applied my oils too.

The company that published this book closed their doors a few years ago due to some of the same issues many businesses faced during the pandemic including paper shortages and inflation. What do you do when it's nearly mid-day Monday and that coffee hasn't wiped away the weekend fog? I hate that feeling. Exhaustion growing, feeling more tired than when we dragged ourselves out of bed, the endless week looming ahead. Ugh. 😿

Happy Passover to all our family and friends who celebrate, and all who observe throughout the world!

As the festival of freedom and renewal begins, may you and your loved ones be blessed with joy, peace, and togetherness. May this special time bring you closer to your traditions, your faith, and each other. Cherish the moments of celebration, reflection, and gratitude during this Passover season.

The themes of this special holiday, as with all holidays, can either trigger immense pain and tension, or they can be catalysts for tremendous healing. Taking the themes Passover presents, we might find issues, stuck energy and even traumas that we could work to clear through. We could ask ourselves questions such as:

Where in my life do I feel enslaved?
What do I wish to be free of?
What painful family issues am I still suffering?
What do I wish to be spared from?
What do I need to release to walk forward into my unknown future?

Likewise we can ask positive questions that can help us create more and more of what we truly desire, such as:

What would I be so grateful for if it were only true?
What do I need to experience more togetherness with those I love?
What do I need to heal to feel peace in my life?

While it's easy to just endure or try to get through a holiday, the practice of ignoring or walking away from our negative or painful feelings and thoughts actually creates more stuck energy and deepens the painful stuck energy we already had. There is tremendous power and relief in simply making a few notes as you go through the day to clear at a later date. Or, spend a bit of time after the holiday to review what you felt and ask what you could clear that could make the next holiday better and more enjoyable.

Remember, peace and love begin within. As we heal ourselves, so too we heal the world. Wishing you a meaningful and happy Passover!
