Risks of prebiotics and probiotics are nominal. Benefits likely clinically significant. Can we say the same for any of the prescriptions we use for PCOS?
For the record I use both. Maximize all the tools in our collective tool boxes.
“The prebiotics or synbiotics supplementation significantly reduced weight, BMI, WC, TG, LDL-C, HDL-C, hs-CRP, MDA, and total testosterone and increased HDL-C and TAC. Prebiotic supplementation for small periods (8 weeks) may have caused a significant improvement in obesity indices, lipid profile, and FPG. Probiotics led to significant reductions in insulin, HOMA-IR, and TG. Therefore, prebiotics or synbiotics can be recommended as a therapeutic approach for improving health outcomes in PCOS patients.”
