In this issue, Kristina Mira, MEd, QBA, IBA, and Kate McKenna, MEd, MSEd, MS, BCBA, present a synopsis of a systematic review paper on the use of Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACTr) components within behavioral interventions for individuals with autism. ACTr is a nonpsychotherapeutic application of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy that involves one or more of six processes, such as mindfulness and values clarification. Overall, the review shows that components of ACTr show promise for improving socially significant behaviors in those with autism. We hope that the readers find this synopsis to be informative and useful as you consider autism interventions.

In this treatment summary, Elizabeth Johnson Singh, MA, and Heidi Pattieshaw, BS, discuss DIRFloortime. Proponents of DIRFloortime promote this intervention as a way to help children with autism form secure relationships, regulate their emotions and attention, and develop complex thinking and communication skills. Unfortunately, the evidence that DIRFloortime can help children accomplish these goals is lacking. The Association for Science in Autism Treatment (ASAT) is proud to reflect on a year filled with meaningful accomplishments and continued growth. In 2025, we celebrated the release of the 84th monthly issue of Science in Autism Treatment, expanded our multilingual outreach to 27 languages, strengthened our Externship program, and deepened collaborations with professionals and organizations worldwide. As we look ahead to 2026, we are excited to build on this momentum by creating new content, expanding awareness of our offerings, and strengthening our capacity through partnerships and sponsorships.
