It’s not just learning how to do yoga… it’s learning how to teach it, understand it, and embody it.

Your 200-hour training is the foundation (think: your “yoga degree” 🧘‍♀️)

Inside, you’ll explore:

- anatomy (how the body moves)
- yoga philosophy (the roots of the practice)
- meditation + breathwork
- asana (the postures)
- sequencing + class structure
- dharma talks (finding your voice)
- restorative + more

You can do it in-person or online — both are valid.

It’s less about the format… more about your intention to go deeper.

And no, you don’t need to be “advanced” to start. You just need curiosity and a willingness to learn.

Sirsasana II (Tripod Headstand) asks for both strength and sensitivity. The more connected you are to your foundation, the lighter the pose begins to feel.

Save this sequence for your inversion practice + remember: control > momentum!!!

It’s not just “slow yoga”… it’s targeted, intentional stillness.
Instead of focusing on muscles (like in vinyasa or hatha), Yin goes deeper:

- fascia
- ligaments
- tendons
- joints

This is the stuff that keeps your body mobile, resilient, and supported long-term.

You’ll hold poses for 3–5 minutes (yes… minutes 😅) and instead of pushing for intensity, you’re sitting with sensation and letting the body open over time.

It’s also rooted in Chinese medicine + Taoist practices, working with meridians + energy pathways alongside the physical body.
And no—this isn’t the same as restorative.

Restorative = full relaxation
Yin = intentional stress → slow release

If your body feels tight, stuck, or overworked… this is probably the practice you’re missing.

working toward headstand? start here 🤸‍♀️
with .purdon

before you jump into Sirsasana, it helps to build the foundation first: shoulder mobility, hamstring length, core support, and body awareness.

try adding these poses into your practice:
- Tadasana with Gomukhasana Arms
- Trikonasana
- Parsvottanasana
- Parivrtta Trikonasana
- Makarasana

then… Sirsasana

headstand isn’t just about “getting upside down.” it’s about learning how to organize the body, stabilize through the shoulders, and stay steady when things shift.

slow + intentional > forcing the pose every time.

The version most of us practice today isn’t ancient… it’s modern yoga history.

In the 1920s, Tirumalai Krishnamacharya created a dynamic, rhythmic system by blending:

- traditional Indian prostrations (acts of devotion)
- elements of British gymnastics (think: hopping + jumping)

Why?

He was teaching a group of teenage boys and needed something engaging, physical, and rhythmic to hold their attention.

That’s where the idea of vinyasa was born → moving with breath, in a structured flow.

So the Sun Salutations you’re practicing today?

They’re a bridge between tradition and modern movement. Yoga is always evolving… and this is one of the biggest examples of that.

Save this if you love learning the why behind the practice 🤍
