Move More! From 2003-2016, data from over 30K US adults from the Nat'l Health & Nutrition Examination Survey showed that Sedentary behavior increased from 5.5 to 6.4 hours per day.
- A more recent study in 2019 indicated that people were sedentary 9.5 hours per day, or approx a 50% increase from just 3 years earlier!
- Adults need to get at least 150-300 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity, or 75-150 minutes of vigorous-intensity aerobic activity per week AND muscle strengthening activities of at least 2-3 days or more per week
