The Survival Kit for Families, a written manual about how children grieve and ways to support them in their grief, is available as a reference for families. The Survival Kit for Schools is provided to school guidance counselors, psychologists, nurses or other personnel to help them understand and support bereaved children and deal with loss in the school setting. Consultation and continuing education services are provided to professionals who work with grieving children, such as teachers, psychotherapists, day care providers, religious leaders, pediatricians, nurses, and school counselors. In addition, informal, supportive get-togethers are held for families, a lending library is available for all interested, educational programs are provided for the larger community, and information and referral services are offered to assist families in locating additional services and materials.

Thank you to everyone who made the Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community so meaningful. 👟💙

To our walkers, donors, and supporters—your generosity and commitment help ensure that children and families navigating grief have access to support, connection, and safe spaces to share their experiences.

And to our interns, staff, and volunteers—your time, energy, and care make this work possible every single day.

Because of all of you, we are able to continue our mission and remind grieving children that they are not alone. 💛
