Morgan, you’ve been so much more than an instructor—you’ve been the laughter echoing through the barn, the creativity behind every decorated horse, and the steady, patient presence for both riders and horses.

Your commitment, laughter, and ability to make even the toughest days feel lighter have meant the world to all of us. You didn’t just teach lessons—you built confidence, relationships, and memories we won’t forget.

We’re going to miss you more than the horses will admit (but don’t worry, we’ll catch them staring down the driveway 😉).

I think we are going to make it!!! These last few days have been brutal. Anyone who knows me knows I passionately hate the cold. But when you have 11 horses in your care (or any livestock), you have to be in the thick of it with them. People ask how horses survive in the wild without the care we give them as humans (coats, de-icing water tanks, hay around the clock) and I don’t know. I do know the hard keepers, specifically the older horses, probably wouldn’t do well. And I can’t stand the thought of them being uncomfortable. They WILL shiver without their blanket. The risk of colic is higher without drinking enough water. Frozen water reduces their water intake.
So regardless if they *could* survive without me going out there 3 times a day, breaking ice, fixing blankets that have managed to go caddywhompus, putting out LOTS of fresh hay, feeding with extra salt to encourage drinking, trying to fix the de-icer, and all the other things that come with frozen everything, I treat them like toddlers because they act like toddlers. And I love them dearly.

This is why you don’t hear me complaining about the summer heat.

These guys/girls need extra TLC. It took me an hour to get to the barn due to car frozen shut and 4 frozen gates/latches.

The horses are so cold!! 😭

Happy 32nd Birthday to Bear!!!!!

Bear is my dad’s cow horse and served as our OG therapy horse at Cowboy Up because of his amazing disposition. This boy loves kids and loves to work cows. If you were riding him and came across some cattle, you better hold on. 🐎 He is fully retired now, but welcomes belly and back rubs anytime.

Thank you Bear for being the BEST BOY and happiest of birthdays to you!!
